I took part in and organised several events across the campus which was a major learning experience for me.The professors were very supportive and resourceful in case I had any doubts or wanted to discuss some topic or wanted to ask something. I also gained more confidence when it came to public speaking as we frequently had presentations and interactive discussions that made me more confident and helped me be well prepared about a topic.

Careers360: What does your daily routine look like? Do you follow a specific schedule that helps manage your time and stress levels?

Careers360: Are you associated with any of the student clubs? If yes, what role do these clubs play in committing to holistic development?

Vidhi Sikchi: I have been involved in Innovation Hub which is the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Council of the university; Student Alumni Relations Society (STARS) which is the alumni relations cell. Both these communities have helped me enhance my soft skills such as communication, interviewing skills and also my writing skills. It was a memorable experience being a member of both these communities. Aatman is the club of the psychology department that organises events for psychology students and advocates mental health awareness through several initiatives. I have been a part of several Aatman events hence, contributing to creating mental health awareness in the university.

Careers360: How is the teacher-student relationship at MIT-WPU? Your insights on this.

Vidhi Sikchi: The professors here are very professional and resourceful. They are always ready to discuss a topic that you find difficult and also assist you when you have any career-related doubts. They give us assignments that focus on critical thinking and research. The students also have mentor-mentee sessions with an assigned professor so that the professors understand the student’s point of view. This has been helpful for us as the professors can decide the deadlines of different assignments in a way that does not clash with other subjects.

Careers360: Did you get a chance to attend any alumni engagement events? How was the interaction valuable?

Vidhi Sikchi: Since I was a part of the Student Alumni Relations Society, I had several opportunities to meet and take interviews with various alumni and network with them. I also attended the annual alumni meet organised by the university and was able to interact and network with numerous alumni in the fields of my interest. Our professors have also organised workshops in collaboration with our alumni who have trained us in interviewing skills and other soft skills and also given valuable insights and advice on how we could advance in our careers.

Careers360: How much would you rate the academic infrastructure at MIT-WPU?

Vidhi Sikchi: The academic infrastructure of our university is well-equipped with latest technologies and keeps up with sustainable development-related initiatives. All the classrooms have smart boards for teaching. The labs in our department have all the necessary equipment for several students to conduct their practicals at once.

Careers360: Why would you recommend studying at MIT-WPU to your family and friends?

Vidhi Sikchi: I would strongly recommend MIT-WPU to my juniors, friends, and family because of the vibrant culture of the university that is built upon the initiatives taken by thriving communities of students and professors. One of the best reasons to recommend my university would be the immense opportunities for networking and meeting new people and industry experts who could enhance your career developmental opportunities. The ethnic diversity on the campus having students from around the world just enhances our knowledge about various communities.
