Candidates should follow the TIFR GS 2026 Syllabus to understand the exam pattern and prepare effectively. To identify TIFR GS subject-wise important chapters, students should also review TIFR GS previous years' papers. In this article, we will discuss the TIFR GS high-weightage topics and also understand some important preparation strategies.
TIFR GS 2027 Important Topics and Chapters
Before appearing for any exam, students should have a clear strategy for preparing. This is the reason they should understand which subjects and questions appear in the exam and what their subject-wise important chapters are. Here is the list of subjects from which most of the questions appear in the TIFR GS exam.
Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics
Biology
After reviewing previous years' papers and sample papers, we have identified the TIFR GS subject-wise important chapters, which we will discuss in the next section.
Here are the TIFR GS 2027 important chapters from every subject.

Previous year papers are the main source to identify TIFR GS high-weightage topics. There are a few ways in which we can use TIFR GS previous year papers.
We can use them as exam papers to practice and create an exam-like environment at home.
We can understand the TIFR GS 2027 syllabus and important topics after reviewing the papers.
We can also identify what topics are omitted or added in the syllabus of the previous year's papers.
Students should check the syllabus before starting preparation for the TIFR GS exam. All the syllabi of each subject has been given in the table below.
We have separated the chapters into three parts as per their importance. Students can check the following table for more information.
There should be different strategies for different subjects as not everyone has the same knowledge about all the subjects. So, preparing a routine incorporating all the subjects in it as per your strengths and weaknesses, is an essential thing.
For maths, if your base is strong, then practice more and strengthen important chapters such as Calculus, coordinate geometry, probability, etc.
For chemistry, focus more on formulas, periodic tables, and physical and chemical chemistry.
For physics, many theories and formulas are important, as calculation based questions appear in the exam as much as theory based questions.
Biology is generally less tough than the above three. Focus more on the textbook and notes to prepare for it.

Hello Nisha,
Yes, you can join
TIFR (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research)
after completing your B.Sc. Here’s how:
How to Join TIFR After B.Sc:
Check Eligibility:
Typically, TIFR accepts students who have completed their B.Sc. or equivalent in relevant subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, or related fields).

There are very benefits you will receive as a scientist and DRDO, ISRO and many other national level organization:
See in general, if one have 50% marks in the TIFR GS examination, then its quite confirmed that the student will get a call for the interview. Now every year, the difficulty of the paper change for different subjects and as a result, the cutoff changes. So nothing for sure
Dear aspirant,
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR Mumbai) offers research and integrated programs at PG and doctoral levels. There are M.Sc, M.Sc+Ph.D and PhD courses offered in various streams of Science. Admissions are entrance based for all courses.
So you can't study/research in TIFR until you complete undergraduate course.
Hello dear aspirant
The fees is quite feasible and affordable to pay for all the students. For hostel accommodation, the fees is around 15,000 rupees yearly which is not included in the program/tution fees.
The institute offers a very good hostel facilities to its students. The rooms of the hostel
