NICHE Scholarships: Eligibility and Categories

Noorul Islam Centre For Higher Education (NICHE), Kanyakumari welcomes a variety of diverse, creative, and brilliant individuals from the state of India and other countries around the world. NICHE Kanyakumari offers a wide range of financial aid to students for further education. NICHE offers over 50+ scholarships to help students make the dream of studying a reality. Access to quality education is essential, but financial constraints often hinder students' academic aspirations. To tackle this issue, NICHE has implemented more than 50 scholarship initiatives that grant substantial monetary support to deserving students.

Scholarships are provided by a number of organisations, including the Central Government, AICTE, UGC, State Governments, and NICHE, in recognition of the financial challenges that students face. In particular, NICHE Kanyakumari has played a significant role in promoting excellence and accessibility in education. Some of the NICHE Scholarships are Academic Excellence Scholarship, NCC Cadet Scholarship, Covid Crisis Relief Scholarship, Differently Abled Students Support Scholarship and Regional Scholarship (Kanyakumari District).

NICHE Scholarship Programme

The NICHE Scholarship Programme has been a game-changer for eligible students. In the academic year 2023-2024, an impressive 80% of eligible students received the NICHE Scholarship, collectively amounting to Rs. 6,019,000. This is a commendable initiative that has helped a great deal of students pursue their academic goals.

NICHE-Steve Jobs Scholarship

The most noteworthy scholarship is the NICHE-Steve Jobs Scholarship. It is a unique opportunity for outstanding students. NICHE-Steve Jobs Scholarship was launched on November 3, 2022, by Shri. Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-Founder of Infosys, this scholarship commemorates 34 years of academic excellence in the Computer Science Engineering Department of NICHE. Recipients of this prestigious scholarship will receive intensive coaching valued at one lakh rupees per student, equipping them with tailored skills sought by industries for seamless integration.

NICHE Scholarships

Academic Excellence Scholarship

To encourage and motivate students with outstanding academic records to pursue higher education

• Students who have secured 90% or more in their Plus Two/Higher Secondary exams are eligible for a 30% tuition fee scholarship.

• Students who have secured 90% or more in the entrance examination conducted by NICHE are also eligible for a 30% tuition fee scholarship.

NCC Cadet Scholarship

To acknowledge, inspire, and uplift young NCC cadets

• Eligible cadets will receive a 10% tuition fee scholarship as a token of recognition and encouragement.

• 100% free coaching at the NICHE-Defence Training Academy.

COVID Crisis Relief Scholarship

Due to COVID-19, numerous students have been directly or indirectly impacted

• 100% scholarship covering the tuition fees to students who have lost both parents to COVID-19.

• 50% scholarship towards the tuition fees to students who have lost one parent due to COVID-19.

Differently Abled Students Support Scholarship

To empower students with disabilities to pursue higher education

• Students with a disability exceeding 40% are eligible for a 15% scholarship towards their tuition fees.

• Children of individuals with disabilities will receive a 10% scholarship for their tuition fees.

Regional Scholarship (Kanyakumari District)

To acknowledge, engage, and assist regional students in their higher education endeavours

• Students from the Kanyakumari district will qualify for a 10% scholarship on their tuition fees.
