Careers360: Tell us something about yourself such as from which place are you from?

Answer: I am Sindhu Vissamsetti and I’m from Avanigadda, Krishna dt, Andhra Pradesh.

Careers360: Presently which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?

Answer: I’m doing BA Economics (Hons) with research. I finished my first year.

Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

Answer: No, not at all. Friends and faculty over here are very friendly, and all the instructions over here are quite clear, so I didn’t face any difficulties.

Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?

Answer: Yes, there are clubs that help with academics and that will involve us in extracurriculars. I’m a part of the social science club and the dance club. The university also takes us to the nearby Centre for Sports Excellence for us to play and build strength in the game.

Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute. What do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

Answer: We usually have to travel from our PG to the University. Being BA students, we generally have some free time for our research and assignment completion. We utilize that time for them, and if not, people will play some sports, which is relaxing.

Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.

Answer: For my course, especially, the faculty-student ratio is 1:2. As mentioned earlier in the above question, the faculty here are very friendly; they understand what you are going through and won’t give us a lot of stress. They usually find ways to make education more fun and more enthusiastic.

Careers360: What facilities do you have on the campus? What do you like here the most which you feel is unique and differentiating?

Answer: Some of the on campus facilities offered by Vidyashilp University are as follows:

  • Computer lab

  • Wi-fi

  • Digital Boards

  • Makerspace, which has a 3D printer

I feel that having a 3D printer is unique because the faculty here actually let us design a model and print it out for us.

Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?

Answer: Our university has a contract with the PG we are living in. The PG provides good food and is hygienic.

Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?

Answer: Yes, we do have an infirmary for our basic needs, but if it’s an emergency, the faculty will immediately take us to the hospital. Even in the PG, they are very responsible when it comes to health.

Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?

Answer: Our faculty encourages us to finish the assignments and projects during the university hours themselves. And activities are usually held on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Saturdays. The faculty provides us with enough time for preparation.

Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students’ point of view?

Answer: As I mentioned earlier, we have clubs for academics and extracurriculars. They help us balance both academics and our interests.

Careers360: Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?

Answer: I don’t think we have one, but we are always well informed of the things that are taking place on and around campus.

Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?

Answer: The canteen area. Basically, the university is quite far from the city, but we have the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence, which is nearby and that we often visit.

Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?

Answer: We do assignments or play.

Careers360: Do you have any Facebook page of your campus where the students express their views, jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life at campus?

Answer: We do have an Instagram page.

Answer: We clearly don’t know the process as we are the first batch of students at the university, but the university assured us that they have tie-ups with some companies.
