Jagran Lakecity University is the first private university of Madhya Pradesh established by Hari Mohan Gupta, Chancellor of Jagran Lakecity University. Based out of Bhopal, Jagran Lakecity University offers more than 52 programmes in various streams. Careers360: Please throw some light on the institute’s mission and legacy.
Hari Mohan Gupta: Our motto was to set up a private university that could provide quality education to students. Our mission is to promote betterment of society through character building, innovation, and integrity among students.

Careers360:Kindly give details about the various programmes and specialisations offered by Jagran Lakecity University.
Hari Mohan Gupta: Jagran Lakecity University offers a total of 52 plusprogrammes currently. We are in process of introducing more programmes in the coming years.

Careers360:Can you elaborate on the ranking and accreditations of the university?
Hari Mohan Gupta: The University has progressed really well in the past 8 years in terms of quality education and facilities provided. JagranLakecity Business Schoolis rated AA+ by Careers360 under B-School while JLU School of Engineering and Technology, Bhopal is also rated AA+. In the coming years, wevisualise Jagran Lakecity University to become one of the premier universities of India in the fields of journalism, mass communication, creative fields, and liberal arts.

Careers360: Can you give insights on Liberal Arts offered by the university?
Hari Mohan Gupta: The field of Liberal Arts is still finding its way among Indian Universities and students. Our mission is to provide quality education to the students interested in liberal arts while making it a reachable course for everyone. Madhya Pradesh is a developing state and students cannot afford expensive education. With help of various corporate and educational partners, out University is trying to inculcate an education scenario to promote Liberal Arts.

Careers360:Tell us about the rich diversity seen at the university.
Hari Mohan Gupta: Jagran Lakecity University has students from almost every state of India along with few neighbouring countries such as Afghanistan, Africa, Thailand, Dubai, Germany. The university has a gender diversity of 66 percent male and 36 per cent female. The university has a large accommodation capacity for all students making them feel at home.

Careers360:Tell us about the location of Jagran Lakecity University and facilities offered.
Hari Mohan Gupta: The campus of Jagran Lakecity University is in the shape of a bowl surrounded by three mountains and a lush green forest providing a peaceful and serene environment to the students. It is spread in a vast area of 230 acres which is at a distance of 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The University has a hostel accommodation facility for around 350 students currently. In the coming year, we are planning to extend the Hostel facilities for 500 more students.

Careers360:Give some insights at the scholarships offered to make education affordable to many students.
Hari Mohan Gupta: Jagran Lakecity University offers scholarships worth of Rs. 2 crores approx. per year to various students depending on their excellence and capability in various fields such as sports, academics, and extracurricular activities. The university also offers fully funded scholarships to students covering tuition fees, living expenses, as well as stationary expenses. This is for students from a weaker economic background and who score a minimum of 80 per cent consistently in their exams.

Careers360:How have the placements been? Please throw some light on this.
Hari Mohan Gupta: Jagran Lakecity University has a consistent placement report. Students in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmeshave been placed with a median package of three to four lakhs. Our top recruiters are Axis Bank, Berger, Jio, Muthoot Finance, Byju’s, Infosys, Jaro Education, NDTV, TATA Class Age, The Leela Goa.

Careers360:What would you advise students selecting a course, college or university?
Hari Mohan Gupta: While searching for a course or university, a student should focus on his/her interests rather than going with the trends. STEM Courses are in mainstream these days but it must be the students' choice and they should not be influenced by trends.
