Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. (a bit of the background like graduation, place and any such thing)
Geetha Manaswini: Hi, I’m Geetha Manaswini from Andhra Pradesh, currently pursuing my graduation in Computer Science Engineering at Manav Rachna University. I have a strong interest in technology, innovation, and developing solutions that can create a meaningful social impact. My areas of interest include software development, AI-driven applications, and accessibility-focused technologies aimed at solving real-world problems.
Recently, I completed my journey as a Junior Research Intern at MR Impact, where I worked on IQAC-related activities and research-oriented tasks. During my 9-month internship, I also actively contributed to organising an international IEEE conference, which gave me the opportunity to interact with authors and professionals from different backgrounds. This experience helped me strengthen my communication, analytical thinking, teamwork, coordination, and organisational skills while giving me valuable exposure to professional and academic environments.
Beyond academics and technology, I’m passionate about Kuchipudi, a classical Indian dance form that has played an important role in shaping my personality. Dance has taught me discipline, dedication, confidence, and self-expression, helping me maintain a balance between creativity and technical learning.
I’m someone who enjoys exploring new opportunities, taking on challenges, and continuously learning and growing both personally and professionally.

Careers360: Tell us something about MRU Faridabad and what made you choose it?
Geetha Manaswini: What made me choose this university was its focus on both academic learning and overall student development. The university provides good opportunities for internships, research activities, skill development, and extracurricular involvement, which help students gain practical exposure along with theoretical knowledge. I also appreciated the supportive learning environment and the encouragement given to students to explore their interests beyond academics.
Careers360: What is the course you are pursuing at MRU and what made you choose this specialisation?
Geetha Manaswini: I’m currently pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering at Manav Rachna University. I chose this specialisation because of my strong interest in technology, innovation, and building solutions that can create a meaningful real-world impact. Computer Science provides great exposure to emerging technologies, problem-solving, software development, and AI-driven applications, which constantly motivates me to learn and grow. I enjoy the combination of creativity, logical thinking, and continuous innovation in this field, and it gives me the opportunity to turn ideas into practical solutions that can help people and solve everyday challenges.

Careers360: Is an internship mandatory at MRU? If yes, where did you pursue it, and what was the duration? What were the steps to get into it?
Geetha Manaswini: Yes, internships are an important part of our engineering curriculum at Manav Rachna University as they help students gain practical exposure, industry experience, and a better understanding of real-world applications of what we learn academically. Currently, I am in my 4th semester, so I have not yet reached the mandatory internship phase of the programme.
However, our university provides strong support for internships through the placement and career development cell, which plays a major role in guiding students about opportunities, skill development, applications, and industry connections. The university also encourages students to participate in internships, workshops, and training programmes to build professional experience alongside academics.
Careers360: Please give details on the assistance you received from the faculty, peers and placement office with regard to the internships?
Geetha Manaswini: The faculty members at Manav Rachna University are very supportive when it comes to guiding students for internships and career development. They regularly encourage us to improve our technical and communication skills, participate in projects, and stay updated with industry trends. Seniors and peers also help by sharing their experiences, preparation strategies, and insights about internship opportunities.
The placement and career development cell plays a major role by organising training sessions, aptitude preparation, resume-building workshops, and sharing internship opportunities with students. The university also conducts alumni interaction sessions where former students share their professional experiences, industry expectations, and guidance on internships and placements. These sessions are very helpful in understanding real-world work environments and preparing ourselves more confidently for future opportunities.

Careers360: How was your experience with the internship? What are the key takeaways that you can look back on from it?
Geetha Manaswini: My experience as a Junior Research Intern at MR Impact was extremely valuable and enriching. Over the course of 9 months, I was involved in IQAC-related work and actively contributed to organising an international IEEE conference. This experience gave me the opportunity to interact and connect with different authors, researchers, and professionals, which helped me gain exposure to academic and professional communication in a global environment.
One of the biggest takeaways from this internship was the development of my communication, coordination, teamwork, and organisational skills. Managing responsibilities during the conference and collaborating with different people taught me professionalism, adaptability, and the importance of attention to detail. The experience also improved my confidence and gave me practical exposure beyond academics, helping me better understand professional work culture and research-oriented environments.
