He is pursuing his undergraduate (UG) degree in Bachelor of Technology at the university. In his interview, Sanskar has shared his experience and life at Bennett University. Q. Tell us something about yourself such as from which place are you from?


Sanskar Dua: My name is Sanskar Dua and I am from Faridabad. I am currently the Head – Club Relations under the Governance wing of the Student Council. I am very passionate about law, especially Commercial Arbitration and Public International law. Apart from this, I enjoy other activities such as singing, cooking, exercise and reading.


Q. Presently which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?


Sanskar Dua: I am currently pursuing BA.LLB (Hons.) and I just finished my 3rd year of study. Now I will be moving to my 4th Year of study.


Q. Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?


Sanskar Dua: I really enjoyed the change in study environment compared to school, and I was always geared up for classes since they were so interesting. Making friends was also never an issue, since people were friendly and welcoming.


Q. What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc. for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?


Sanskar Dua: Bennett university offers a plethora of activities and students always have something or the other to keep them occupied. We have a huge list of sports facilities available that we can play in our free time, such as Badminton, Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Swimming, Squash, Tennis and more. We even have a full-sized gym. Apart from this, there are 40 clubs in the university, all covering different domains. These clubs are always hosting different events and inviting participation from the students, as well as performing exceptionally well. We also have school specific committees which provide us various activities pertaining to our interests. For example, in law school we have Moot Court Committee, Legal Aid Cell and ADR Committee. Students can be a part of committees themselves or be a part of activities that these committees provide to the students. I am currently the Head – Club Relations and I work with all the clubs. Previously I have been a part of the debating society of Club Cerebrum.

Q. Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?


Sanskar Dua: A typical day begins at 6:30 am, when I wake up and freshen up, followed by around an hour of gym. Then I get ready and rush to classes at 8:30 am. We get free at around 4:30pm, have our lunch and then we are free to carry our day as we please. This includes sports, studies, long walks in the campus, fun sessions with friends, participating in club activities, as well as performing my duties as part of the student council in overlooking the working of these clubs.


Q. Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.


Sanskar Dua: The faculty members that I have interacted with have been very approachable. They are always willing to take up questions, are easily approachable outside class hours and always ready to help with other activities such as internships and mooting as well.


Q. What facilities do you have on campus? What do you like here the most which you feel is unique and differentiating?


Sanskar Dua: We have Air-Conditioned Classrooms, Academic Blocks, and Hostel Room. We also have a very feedback-oriented Mess staff, which introduces food according to student wishes, and implements feedback. We have many sports facilities as I mentioned above. A student can never run out of options when it comes to sports. We also have a great security team and anti-ragging squad on campus that are very friendly to interact with and very quick to act where required.

Q. How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?


Sanskar Dua: The hostels are comfortable. And there is adequate space available. We get our separate desks, wardrobe, and beds, along with air conditioning. There is a regular room cleaning facility available, where rooms are cleaned at minimum twice a week, and the staff is quick to come whenever there is a requirement apart from the designated days. The washrooms are cleaned regularly and hygiene are maintained.


Q. What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?


Sanskar Dua: We have a wellness center here on the college campus itself. They have most of the medication that a student can require for everyday needs in case of colds, fever, weakness, or sports injuries. We also have adequate bedding facilities for students, facilities for special diets as required according to the qualified medical practitioners present here, as well as specialized equipment such as steamers, nebulizers, drips, oxygen masks, blood oxygen and blood sugar sensors. There is also a tie-up with Kailash Hospital, Greater Noida and an Ambulance service for cases where a student needs to be sent to hospital due to emergency cases.


Q. How do you balance your studies, projects, exams, and other activities?


Sanskar Dua: Balancing is a never-ending task, that is sometimes successful, sometimes not. But each activity that I am involved in teaches me something valuable and introduces me to exceptional people who I can always learn from.


Q. Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students’ point of view?


Sanskar Dua: The clubs are an integral part of the university’s culture. There are countless creative activities happening that are pushing the boundaries of imagination to new heights. For example, we have Alexis, the social welfare club, organizing blood donation drives, which I am very happy to say was the most successful blood donation drive according to the collaborating organization. We have dance clubs involving students in both western dances as well as cultural dances. We have a music club, a gaming club, a yoga club, fashion club and a lot more. We even have a dramatics club, which regularly hosts exceptional workshops, and has a track record of performing well and winning at reputed external events.


Q. Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?


Sanskar Dua: We have a newsletter which covers the activities and achievements of the students, and it is updated every semester.

Q. What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?


Sanskar Dua: On Campus, we have a variety of eating joints around which students chill and hangout. We also have several benches around the green campus, where students can sit down under the shades of the trees and relax. Students also go out to nearby malls like Venice Mall, CP Mall and DLF Mall of India.


Q. How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?


Sanskar Dua: I spend my leisure time reading and going for long walks with friends. Sometimes I indulge myself in sports apart from my regular gym.


Q. Do you have any Facebook page of your campus where the students express their views, jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life at campus?


Sanskar Dua: The BU Facebook page is more of an informational site regarding the university and its facilities, however the Instagram pages, both official and student run are highly active and provide opinions of the students, highlight their achievements, and also showcase things happening on campus.
