Careers360: Tell us something about yourself such as from which place are you from?
Answer: I’m Rachit, from Nainital. I like to read and write occasionally.
Careers360: Presently which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?
Answer: First year, BA Liberal Arts.
Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?
Answer: Not really, I made friends very soon and the university was cooperative with pretty much everything on campus.
Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?
Answer: Activities range from various kinds of sports to debates and quizzes and musical events. There are several clubs that cater to different interests of people, like the drama club, the music club, the literary club, the dance club and others. I am part of the Student Council and a study circle called Gandhi Study Circle.
Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute. What do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?
Answer: Day starts with breakfast at 9, then classes from 9:30 typically continuing to the evening, following which I try going to the gym if time and energy permits, then work a little which is followed by dinner. After dinner I go to play cricket and return before midnight. Then after some time to myself I go to sleep.
Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.
Answer: There are enough faculty members in relation to the number of students who are mostly cordial and available to help or just for a friendly talk too. Everyone is approachable and except a few (as is the case in every institute), all are likable.
Careers360: What facilities do you have on the campus? What do you like here the most which you feel is unique and differentiating?
Answer: Few of the Bennett University facilities are as follows: Gym, sports complex, swimming pool, cafeteria, food outlets, a dedicated reading space, two libraries, a lounge area. It lacks a differentiating aspect in my opinion.
Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?
Answer: Hostels are decently comfortable. Rooms are cleaned twice a week on designated days by housekeeping who can be called on other days to clean too.
Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?
Answer: Medical facilities are good. There is a health care center with basic medical facilities, pharmacy, 24X7 ambulance service and pharmacy.
Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?
Answer: Mostly keep projects and assignments for the last few days, exams for the last while engaging in different activities throughout.
Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students’ point of view?
Answer: Clubs hold an important position here. They pretty much decide what to do and when to do it, organize different events and competitions throughout the course of the year and association with clubs is beneficial for anyone.
Careers360: Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?
Answer: Yes, a yearbook, a newsletter and regular updates on The Times of Bennett newspaper and website along with the high social media presence on Facebook and Instagram keeps us updated with major BU happenings.
Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?
Answer: The most popular hangout joints of campus are Kathi Junction and Maggi Hotspot. We usually visit these in between lectures and during the evening to relax and chill with our group of friends.
Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?
Answer: For me leisure time is my time for introspection. Being in my room, relaxing, reading a book, watching a movie and of course sleeping. That’s a glimpse of my simple yet relaxing leisure time.
Careers360: Do you have any Facebook page of your campus where the students express their views, jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life at campus?
Answer: Yes, Bennett University has an active Facebook page where students can share their views, ideas, and experiences of life on campus. The page features updates on campus events, student achievements, and important announcements from the university.
Careers360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?
Answer: I do not have much knowledge about this, but my limited knowledge tells me that top MNCs visit the campus for recruitment and most of the students are picked for placement at Bennett University each year.
