Careers360 brings you an interview with Kritika Lalwani, Alumni (BAJMC 2017-20 Batch) Bennett University Greater Noida. Currently she is working as an Assistant Marketing Manager at ExpressKCS. In her interview to Careers360, Kritika shares her experience at the university. What was it like to be a part of the university? How did she choose the BAJMC course at Bennett University? Careers360: Tell us about your domain and your work profile. At the professional level, did you pursue the same field you were interested in, or did you switch?
Answer: Yes, I continued in the same field which is Marketing and Creative Production fields, much focused on Print and Digital Media. I am working as Assistant Marketing Manager at ExpressKCS.
Careers360: Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?
Answer: I got placed from college in March 2020 in ExpressKCS and since then I have been working with Express KCS. I have been promoted from Marketing Communication Executive to Assistant Marketing Manager. Currently working and expanding skills within the Marketing and Creative Production fields, much focused on Print and Digital Media.
Careers360: Is the Industry work different from what you learnt at Bennett University?
Answer: I wouldn't say it's entirely different. It’s both similar and different. Similar in terms of the basic knowledge. Different towards the application of the knowledge as the work differs from company to company. But it's overall a learning experience.
Careers360: How do you think your time in college has added value to your life, both professional and personal?
Answer: Professionally, university helped me understand the importance of time management by adhering to the deadlines for projects and assignments. And at a personal level the constant urge to learn new concepts played a huge role for me.
Careers360: What was your initial thought process when you joined Bennett University?
Answer: I was very sure that it would be one of my best decisions to choose BU as being a Times of India initiative. And it did turn out to be the best for Mass Communication given its forte. The faculty student ratio was impressive.
Careers360: You must have spent a memorable time at BU. Do you miss being a part of it? Share a few good memories.
Answer: Yes definitely. I miss studying in the classroom, I miss the activities. I miss the fest vibe on campus. BU was home away from home. We lived, laughed, loved and cried our hearts out. It was surely once in a lifetime experience.
Careers360: Briefly take us through your life at the campus, the activities you used to do and your routine life.
Answer: Bennett University offers a wide range of facilities to its students, including world-class sports facilities within a vibrant campus. Students can also take advantage of the on-campus gymnasium and fitness center, as well as the multi-purpose indoor sports arena. I was part of the sports committee and a few clubs.
Careers360: Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in and how did it enrich your life?
Answer: Sports committee has been a game changer for me as it helped me explore my endless talent and abilities keeping me fit and agile thereby increasing their concentration and willingness to perform better in any field.
Careers360: How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements and what was the role of the institute in it?
Answer: Teachers and guest lectures, workshop played a vital role in providing updates with industry requirements. Our department regularly conducted workshops, seminars, guest lectures and conferences to motivate the students and keep the students well aware of the industrial requirement along with industrial visits to Times studio and printing press.
Careers360: You are a proud alumnus of BU. What is the best part of the Institute from a student's perspective?
Answer: Bennett helps in your overall development. The professors are one to look forward to. Faculty guidance and mentoring is best at the TSOM with excellent infrastructural facilities.
Careers360: What is your suggestion/guidance for the BU aspirants?
Answer: Don't fear to fall. You will always learn something on the way. Try new things and enjoy college life as much as you can.
