Step 1: Meghalaya Common Admission Portal Registration Form
Visit the website at mcap.nic.in.
Now, click on the "Register Now" tab.
Fill in all the required details carefully.
Enter the CAPTCHA as displayed.
Click "Validate Mobile Number".
Re-enter your mobile number along with the country code.
After successful validation, your registration will be complete.
Step 2: Filling out the MCAP Application Form
Login into the website using the registered mobile number, date of birth and password.
Enter all the personnel details.
After completing all fields, click “Save & Continue” to proceed to the next step.
Now, fill in the academic details.
Select your preferred programme and subject details.
After selecting all required options, click “Add to List” to save the preference.
Step 3: Uploading of Documents
Upload the documents and save.
After uploading all documents, review them carefully before proceeding to submission.
Step 4: MCAP Fee Submission
Select the payment method.
The amount will be generated automatically.
Pay the online MCAP application fee and save the application fee receipt.

Applicants will be provided with a three-day Application Correction Window prior to the declaration of the first round of admission results. During this period, applicants must review their application carefully and make necessary corrections.
The Government of Meghalaya will release the MCAP merit list at the website mcap.nic.in. The merit list shall be prepared based on merit, declared preferences, and prescribed eligibility criteria. Separate merit lists and seat allotment processes shall be conducted for CUET and Non-CUET applicants, wherever applicable.
After each round of seat allotment, applicants must choose one of the following options within the given time:
Accept the allotted seat
Reject the allotted seat
Slide Up: Opt to be considered for a higher preference in the next rounds (if applicable)
Once a candidate accepts a seat, there is no withdrawal option available through the system. The seat admission fee is non-refundable, unless otherwise specified by the competent authority. If a candidate wishes to discontinue after acceptance, it will be treated as a voluntary withdrawal, and no refund will be provided.
Students must submit their documents to the respective institute for verification. Without any valid document, the candidature will be cancelled.
