Careers360: Tell us a bit about yourself.

Akhil: I am Akhil Soni, Assistant Manager at ANSR in Bengaluru. Originally from Himachal Pradesh, I have 6.5 years of diverse experience, including maintaining HRIS systems and implementing and enhancing ERP and CRM products for various clients. My passion lies in solving complex problem statements and driving innovative solutions for my team and clients. When I'm not working, I enjoy unwinding by playing online games.

Careers360: What were the factors that made you choose your institution/university?

Akhil: Few of the factors that made me choose Chitkara were the campus culture, academic programs, location, cost and the reputation that Chitkara University holds.

Careers360: Why did you choose to pursue your specialization?

Akhil: My passion lies in solving complex problems and driving innovative solutions and business analytics is the appropriate domain as it uses data and analytics tools to solve complex business problems, which are rewarding and fulfilling experiences. The other reason why I chose business analytics was that Business analytics skills provide a competitive advantage in the job market and enable professionals to make data-driven decisions that lead to better business outcomes.

Careers360: Please describe your journey till date.

Akhil: I feel my journey has been diverse and dynamic. I have been involved in developing and executing product strategies that align with the company's vision, mission, and goals. I have collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure that products are developed and launched on time and within budget.

Careers360: What are the key learning points from your college days that have held you in good stead so far?

Akhil: Firstly, time management: It is a crucial skill that many people learn during college. Balancing coursework, extracurricular activities, and personal responsibilities can be a challenging task. By prioritizing tasks and setting achievable goals, we can learn to manage our time effectively.

Secondly, the college provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through class discussions, debates, and research papers, we can learn to analyze complex issues, think creatively, and make sound judgments.

Thirdly, the college also provides a platform for individuals to develop communication and interpersonal skills. Group projects, presentations, and social activities help us to learn how to collaborate effectively with others, communicate their ideas clearly, and develop empathy.Finally, many college experiences help individuals to develop a sense of responsibility and independence. Living away from home, managing finances, and making decisions about academic and personal life can help us to develop a sense of maturity and self-reliance.

Careers360: Share a few good memories from your college days.

Akhil: During my college days, I had the opportunity to create some wonderful memories that I cherish to this day. Some of my fondest memories include going on short trips to Kausali, a picturesque hill station, where I got to soak in the natural beauty and create lasting memories with friends. I also enjoyed playing basketball with random folks from different streams and departments, which not only helped me to stay active and healthy but also provided an opportunity to socialize and make new friends. Another memorable experience was the small parties we used to have in the college canteen, where we would unwind after a long day of classes and bond over good food and conversation. These experiences helped me to create lasting friendships and cultivate a sense of community during my college years.

Careers360: How would you describe the support that you got from the faculty and team/classmates? How did it help?

Akhil: I got a very supportive faculty and team/classmates which helped me achieve academic and personal goals. The faculties shared valuable feedback and advice on how to navigate the challenges of college life whereas my team/classmates provided a support system through study groups, social activities, and shared experiences.

Careers360: What was your placement season like? Any memories you would like to share with our readers?

Akhil: The experience was both challenging and competitive, and I approached it with confidence and determination. Rather than worrying about the outcome, I focused on showcasing my skills and abilities to the best of my ability. By staying true to myself and emphasizing my strengths, I was able to approach the interview with a sense of self-assuredness that allowed me to shine. Ultimately, I believe that my confidence and focus helped me to stand out from other candidates and secure the position.

Careers360: Do you believe that constant reinvention is a must and one needs to keep abreast of the updated trends in the field? How best would you describe the process?

Akhil: Yes, I believe it is essential for individuals and organizations to keep reinventing themselves to stay competitive in today's fast-paced and ever-changing world. Staying abreast of the latest trends and advancements in one's field is crucial to remain relevant and successful. The process of constant reinvention involves several steps:

Firstly, it requires a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and methodologies. This can involve attending conferences, webinars, and workshops, reading industry publications, and engaging with thought leaders in one's field.

Secondly, it involves regularly assessing one's skills and competencies and identifying areas for improvement. This can involve seeking feedback from colleagues, mentors, or coaches, and setting personal development goals.

Thirdly, it requires taking action to develop new skills and knowledge. This can involve enrolling in courses or certification programs, participating in projects or initiatives outside one's comfort zone, or seeking out new experiences and challenges.

Finally, it requires a mindset of continuous learning and growth. This means being open to new ideas, being willing to take risks and make mistakes, and seeking out opportunities for feedback and reflection.

Akhil: Some of the advices that I would like to share with future aspirants are:
