JNU Admission Process 2026

Candidates who want to enrol in Jawaharlal Nehru University's programmes must fill out an application form and take the CUET UG and CUET PG entrance exams to take part in the JNU admission process.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University will publish the JNU 2026 final cut-off for PG programmes in order to determine qualifying marks in September. Students who will meet the JNU 2026 cut-off marks must complete the pre-enrollment form and indicate their preferences. Students must complete the online document verification process and pay the academic fee to claim their JNU seats for 2026.

JNU Counselling 2026

Qualifying candidates must attend JNU counselling 2026, which will include the pre-enrolment registration, verification of their official documents, the payment of the semester fee, and the assignment of a seat in the first semester. It should be noted that certain official documents must be carried by the candidates for them to be verified by the authorities. Failure to present any of the required official documents will result in the candidate's disqualification. As a result, it is recommended that candidates review the list of required official documents. Candidates applying for postgraduate programmes must register at the JNU PG counselling portal to initiate the JNU PG counselling process.

JNU CUET Counselling Process

Candidates applying for JNU CUET admission must take part in the counselling of JNU. The JNU UG counselling starts after the publication of the CUET result 2026. The counselling process of JNU is conducted in the following manner:

• Registration.

• Choice filling.

• Document verification.

• Seat allotment.

• Reporting at the institution.

• Follow-up rounds.

JNU Seat Allotment 2026

The JNU UG second seat allotment 2026 has been released on August 12. Students whose names have appeared in JNU UG 2026 allotment 2026 for round 2 must pay the fees and block their seats by August 14. The physical verification of admission against the JNU UG 2026 seat allotment will be done between August 17 to 20. In case there are any vacant seats, the last call for expression of willingness for admission is August 28.

What is the reservation category for the JNU Admission?

The Jawaharlal Nehru University reserves 27% seats for students who belong to the OBC category. Similarly, 15% seats are reserved for the SC category students, 7.5% for ST, and 5% seats are for those students who fall under the PwD category. Candidates, please note that only those candidates who have a disability of 40% or more can avail these reservations.

Documents required for JNU Counselling

Candidates are advised to check the list of all the documents required for JNU CUET counselling:

• Mark sheets of the qualifying exam.

• Degree/Provisional certificate of the qualifying examination.

• Class 10th mark sheet and certificate.

• Class 12th mark sheet and certificate.

• Anti-ragging affidavit.

• Character certificate (from the last attended institution).

• Migration certificate.

• A passport-sized photograph.
