Joint Admission Test for M.Sc Programmes
Atanu, To be honest, it is very difficult to predict the cutoffs and the predicted rank of IIT JAM Mathematics, but we can make use of previous year trends to calculate the expected rank and cutoff. Firstly discussing with respect to the cutoff, it is a big possibility that you would clear the cutoff irrespective of your category as many coaching institutions predict it to be around 20. However, predicting the rank is a bit more difficult as it also depends on factors like total number of candidates and difficulty level of exam which varies every year and we cannot predict the toughness of the paper and its effect on the rank as of now. However, looking at past few years trends , you can expect a rank close to 220-245, maybe even less depending on the variables as discussed above. However, it is still advised that do not rely totally on these predictions as they are largely dependent on previous years trends, however, it also helps us in understanding our chances.
Hope this helps.
Hello Aspirant,
Based on this rank the chances are less to get a set in IITs for any of the programme however you might get a seat in NITs. You didn't mention here the paper code, You can also check the cutoff of IITs & NITs to go through with the given below links.

Souvik, Honestly, it is very difficult to predict the cutoff or the predicted rank of IIT JAM Physics 2020 as of now, but we can make use of previous year trends to calculate the expected rank and cutoff. With respect to the cutoff, it is a big possibility that you would clear the cutoff irrespective of your category as many coaching institutions predict it to be around 16-18 for general category students. However, predicting the rank is a bit more difficult as it also depends on factors like total number of candidates and difficulty level of exam which varies every year and we cannot really predict the effect of toughness of this years' paper on the rank. However, looking at past few years trends , you can expect a rank close to 300-320, maybe even less than that based on the variables as described earlier. Note that is the General Rank and not the category rank which is very difficult to predict at this instant unless we know the exact number of same category students participating in IIT JAM PHYSICS exam. Also, understand that is only a prediction made on the basis of previous years trends and actual results may vary, however, these predictions do help in evaluating our chances.
Hi,Yes you can pursue iit jam chemistry. And give other entrance exams for M.Sc chemistry also.
IIT jam is conducted for admissions to M.Sc. (Four Semesters), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, etc. Programmes at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at IISc. The eligibility to apply for jam exam is 55%, or 5.55 out of 10 aggregate marks in their qualifying degree.
For iit jam chemistry a candidate need to possess Chemistry as a subject for three years/six semesters.
Similarly a candidate with chemistry as subject of study in bsc can apply for jnu and bhu msc entrance exam.
