    Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU) is a private state university established in 2001. The university is located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. NAAC has accredited Dhirubhai Ambani University with an “A+” grade. DAU offers UG, PG and doctoral courses in several specialisations. DAU Gandhinagar courses are BTech, BS-MS, MTech, MSc, M.Des., and PhD.

    In this interview, Harshavardhan Singh, a BTech ICT first-year student, talks to Careers360 about his campus life at Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, including extracurricular activities, clubs, facilities, classes, studies, projects, and more.

    Careers360: Tell us something about yourself, such as where you are from.

    Harshavardhan Singh: I am Harshavardhan Singh, a BTech ICT first-year student from Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

    Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

    Harshavardhan Singh: Yes, when I joined the institute, I faced language difficulty in the initial months.

    Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?

    Harshavardhan Singh: There are a variety of clubs for dance, drama, singing and many more at DAU Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and I joined the dance club.

    Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

    Harshavardhan Singh: After waking up, I follow my daily routine and attend lectures from 9:00 AM to 12 PM, followed by lab sessions and tutorials in the afternoon.

    Careers360: What facilities do you have on campus? What do you like here the most, which you feel is unique and differentiating?

    Harshavardhan Singh: We have several facilities on campus, such as a library, sports, a cafeteria, and a medical facility, but a unique thing is the student activities centre (SAC).

    Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?

    Harshavardhan Singh: Yes, medicine and the medical center are available at the Dhirubhai Ambani University, Gandhinagar.

    Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?

    Harshavardhan Singh: It's difficult, but not impossible. You just need to maintain consistency.

    Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?

    Harshavardhan Singh: The popular hangouts at the institute are the cafeteria and the nearby city of Ahmedabad.

    Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time on campus?

    A: I spend my time listening to songs or going to the Student Activities Centre (SAC).

    Careers360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment, and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?

    A: Many top leading companies participate in the campus placement drive, and the recruitment process is good at Dhirubhai Ambani University.

    Admission to the ICT branch at DAIICT depends on your GUJCET rank, board marks, category, and the year's cutoff. With around 85–90% in PCM and a 100+ score in GUJCET, there may be a chance for SEBC category students, but it depends on the final cutoff during counselling.
