Harsh: I am Harsh Wadhwa, from Delhi
Careers360: Presently, which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?
Harsh: Presently I am pursuing two courses, one is B.Sc. Culinary Arts from MRIIRS, Faridabad and another is BBA from Chandigarh University. In both courses, I am in 1st year.
Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?
Harsh: No, nothing such, but it took time to get involved in this new world with everyone.
Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc, for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?
Harsh: Yes, there are plenty of clubs for various extracurricular activities, whether it is dance, music, fashion or even chess…
Since we are engrossed in various activities and events in which are department is related so there is not much time left to join any such clubs.
Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?
Harsh: After waking up in the morning and getting ready, I usually go to college by scooty but sometimes by car also depends on the requirement, such as if I have to carry something big in size to college or on the weather also, after reaching college meeting my friends and begins with our morning class after that class we usually have our practical sessions, afterwards it is followed by a break in between and then our theory class, after which we all are almost very tired and I feel to go home and relax for sometime, in the evening I usually go to my bakery or do any little bit of work assigned to us and on weekends I am busy with my studies of another degree namely, BBA.
Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.
Harsh: In this university, the faculty-to-student ratio is good never felt like I have been left out by any faculty member during our lecture or in anytime. But I really wish there should be more students in our culinary batch.
Careers360: What all facilities do you have in the campus? What do you like here the most, which you feel is unique and differentiating?
Harsh: Almost all the facilities provided to us on the campus are good, like we have plenty of options for eating or hanging out in our campus itself. One thing I should say is about the cleanliness of our campus, well maintained and clean campus.
Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?
Harsh: I haven’t availed for the hostels as my home is nearby to the university.
Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?
Harsh: Yes, I have even availed medical facilities when my scooty was slipped in the junkyard parking due to my negligence, and all the first aid treatment from dressing to a tetanus injection was provided to me immediately.
Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?
Harsh: I have never burdened myself by thinking a lot about them, I have a simple ideology, why think a lot and waste your time and energy in thinking, just do it whenever it is required or off course, before the submission date.
Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students point of view?
Harsh: There many clubs in our campus so I don’t think anyone’s area of interest has been left out, but as I said before I am already so much engrossed in our departmental activities which are mainly related to culinary field so there is hardly anytime left for any such activities so I haven’t explored them so much.
Careers360: Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest events or happenings at the institute?
Harsh: Yes, there are many and one of those is led by our faculty member of SCHM, Mr. Madhav Sharma
Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?
Harsh: Since my department is in T block so I mainly used to hang out at Red brick in my chill time but recently noticed that the menu has changed a little bit, which is not as good as the previous one.
Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?
Harsh: By talking with our friends in the empty classrooms or at the red brick.
Careers360: Do you have any Facebook page of your campus where the students express their views jokes or ideas, or maybe even a blog where they write about their experience of life at campus?
Harsh: No I don’t have any such.
Careers360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?
Harsh: Since I am in first year so I don’t have much idea about that, but whatever I have seen and heard of almost everybody gets recruitment in our course unless they are thinking of pursuing higher studies, and there are good companies like raddisson blu, crowne plaza, etc.
