With a merit rank of 8160 (EWS category) for B.Com (Hons.) at NMIMS, you have a good chance of getting admission. EWS cut-offs usually go up to 8500–9500, so you're likely to be selected in the merit list. Keep checking the NMIMS portal and be ready to confirm your seat.
If your aspiration is to pursue an MBA at a top-tier program and you can handle the academic and financial demands, NMIMS can act as a launchpad. But if you’re concerned about cost, stress, or average outcomes, you may be better off at a reputable government or other private college offering BBA/BCom with lower fees and reasonable exposure.
Pros: Strong brand name, academically rigorous, global curriculum, decent placements for top-performers.
Cons: Expensive, highly competitive environment, strict academics, limited return on investment for average students.
Hey aspirant,
First off, congrats on getting into NMIMS Hyderabad for BBA! Now coming to your question — yes, it's a decent option, especially if you’re focused on doing an MBA later or want a structured BBA program with decent exposure.
The academics are well-designed — industry-oriented, with case studies, group projects, and a practical approach. Faculty are qualified, mostly corporate-background, but don’t expect a chill academic life — it’s quite professional.
When it comes to placements, don’t expect massive packages right after BBA. Average packages go around 3–4.5 LPA, sometimes higher if you build your resume smartly. Most students go for MBA after BBA, and NMIMS gives an edge in that direction.
The campus is clean, modern, but a bit isolated, since it’s on the outskirts. Hostel life is strict but okay — decent food, Wi-Fi, and basic facilities. The crowd is fairly good — focused, semi-academic vibe. There are clubs, fests, and presentations, but not the same level of freedom or fun you’d get at say, DU or Christ.
So is it worth it?
If you're serious about business studies, want a branded degree, and don’t mind a slightly structured and quiet life — then yes, NMIMS Hyderabad is worth it. Just remember, a lot depends on what you make of your three years. Get internships, upskill, and participate actively — and it’ll pay off.
Hello,
Holding an NMIMS CET rank of 6,600 makes it difficult to gain admission to a Computer Science Engineering (CSE) seat at the Mumbai flagship campus, as the recent Phases 1 cutoffs indicate that CSE and specialized AI/DS closed below the 400–600 rank range.
Nonetheless, you still possess a fair opportunity for admission to different campuses such as Shirpur, Navi Mumbai, or Indore, where CSE cutoffs generally reach up to ranks of 2,000–6,000 in subsequent rounds.
If your aim is to secure a CSE seat at NMIMS, focusing on these campuses is your optimal choice. If you’re considering IT or Electronics fields, your opportunities at the Mumbai campus might enhance a bit, although those areas remain competitive.
Hope this helps. All the best!
Hi! Congratulations on scoring a rank of 3792 in NMIMS-CET 2025.
With this rank, getting CSE or its specialisations like AI, Data Science, or Cybersecurity in the Mumbai campus will be quite competitive. Based on previous year trends, these branches usually close within the top 1000 to 1500 ranks in the first few rounds. So, it's unlikely in the initial list, but you can still wait for further rounds as there are cases where the waitlist moves and seats open up if students withdraw.
However, your chances are better for CSE or its specialisations in other campuses like Navi Mumbai, Indore, or Hyderabad. These campuses generally have lower closing ranks compared to the main Mumbai campus.
I suggest you go through all counselling rounds and keep checking the updates regularly. Seat movement happens and sometimes surprises are possible in later rounds.
Happy to help!
