If Im completing my graduation in Bsc Forensic science or any other course e.g. Microbiology any other can I eligible for IIT JAM

Karamvir Singh 16th Jun, 2021

Hi,

Yes, the eligibility criteria for IIT JAM is to pass the graduation with 55% marks(5% relaxation in terms of reserve category) or 5.5( 5 CGPA for reserved category) CGPA on the scale of 10. If your pursuing B.SC in Forensic Science or Microbiology, you will still be eligible for IIT JAM, however, the course you will get into after qualifying IIT JAM may vary. So, as per the specializations offered under the IIT JAM, with B.SC Forensic Science/Microbiology, you will be eligible only for M.SC in Biotechnology.

can i give iit jam after bsc hons maths

Virat Srivastava 15th Jun, 2021

Dear candidate, eligibility criteria for different branches and different caste is different:

  • There is no age limit for IIT JAM.
  • Candidates meet IIT JAM eligibility criteria 2021 if they possess a bachelor’s degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks or 5.5 CGPA/CPI out of 10 if they belong to general/OBC (NCL)/EWS category. For SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates, the eligibility criteria for the exam is such that they should have secured 50% aggregate marks or 5.0 CGPA/CPI out of 10. Aspirants who have given their graduation exam or are set to appear for their final year exams in 2021 also meet IIT JAM eligibility criteria. For candidates who have been given letter grades/ CGPA as a substitute for percentage of marks, the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting college/ institute.
  • For eligibility criteria of different branches, you can visit the given link:

Sharon Rose Student Expert 23rd Jun, 2021

Hello,

Considering the previous year cut off you do not have chances of getting seat in NIT or IIT in M.Sc Chemistry based on the previous year cut off. You have chances of getting seat in Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology  (SLIET) for admission to M.Sc Chemistry the cut off was 4398 for OBC category. Cut off is subjected to change this year based on total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

I am unable to choose that what should I do after BSC(HONOURS) PHYSIOLOGY, its doing MSC or give the IIT JAM exam , or take admission in BEED course, plz help me!!

pdwords Student Expert 26th May, 2021

Hello,

BEd is compulsory for a career in teaching at school level, however in case of university teaching it isn't necessary, BEd along with master's degree will make you eligible for PGT if you appear for CTET or you can also consider state level TETs, you can choose to go ahead with BEd if not MSc if working is a priority for you, if you're interested in career in research or university level teaching then choose appearing for IIT JAM, after master's degree you can appear for CSIR NET and if you qualify JRF you will also receive stipend which is good enough for science stream candidates, and you can qualify for lectureship through NET or even SET which is conducted at state level and in both cases there is no upper age limit.

If I take admission in MSC in physiology,is there be any advantage of WB JEE, IIT JAM,NEET marks?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 26th May, 2021
Hello,

No you won't be getting any advantage of your NEET, or any state or national level entrance exam marks while taking admission in M.Sc course. This is simply because those are separate exams and their marks are used for separate course. When you will apply for MSc you will have to appear for the entrance exam of the respective institute or admission will be based on merit depending on the college where you are taking admission. And if youbare aiming for top colleges then you will have to clear IIT JAM.

I hope this helps.
