Students who want to apply for admission to the B.Ed courses at various universities in Telangana need to fulfil the eligibility criteria. The TG EDCET 2026 eligibility criteria are mentioned below:
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree, i.e. B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Sc (Home Science), BCA, BBM, B. A (Oriental Languages), BBA or Bachelor’s in Engineering and Technology or a Master’s Degree with at least 50% marks.
The minimum passing percentage for SC/ST/BC students is 40% marks.
They should have completed the age of 19 years on 1st July of the year in which the notification is issued. There shall be no maximum age limit.
Applicants should have Indian Nationality.
The university will release the TS EDCET 2026 application form in March. Candidates can register for the Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test by entering some basic details. Kakatiya University will declare the TG EDCET 2026 result in June at the official website. Candidates who have appeared for the TG EDCET 2026 examination can check their results by logging in using their hall ticket number and date of birth. There is no TS EDCET qualifying mark for reserved category students. However, the those candidates who belong to SC/ST communities shall secure the minimum qualifying marks of 25% marks (i.e. 38 marks) in Ed.CET to claim a seat under NCC/Sports and Games/Physically Handicapped/Children of Armed Personnel quota.
The candidates must score at least 38 marks to qualify the TS EDCET entrance test.
Documents that are crucial on the counselling day are TS EDCET admit card, all previous educational certificates and some personnel certificates.
The candidates are generally ranked based on the merit prepared by the authorities. If there is a tie between two candidates, then subject/content marks is considered for ranking. If the tie still persists, teaching aptitude marks are taken into consideration. In case of further tie, General English marks are taken in consideration. If there is still a tie, then General Knowledge & Educational Issues will be taken into account to decide relative ranking. If the tie still persists, computer awareness marks are taken in to account to decide relative ranking. Candidates getting equal marks in each of the parts of the test paper are bracketed for the purpose of award of rank. The rank of the bracketed candidates are taken into consideration at the time of admission and older students are given priority.
