Well according to previous years cut off analysis with a rank of 5000 it is very tough to get ece in pes, ece faces a lot of stiff competition at pes , if we look at previous years cut off rank ece closes at 1500 maximum in round 1 , sometimes not and sometimes stretches maximum upto 2000 i round 2 so you might not be getting ece at pes.

With 4558 rank in pessat there are chances that you can get mechanical engineering branch seeing previous year's cutoff and this year also the cutoff trend will be more or less the same and the counseling is going to start from 1st june so best of luck .

PESSAT is an exam conducted for admission in PES University while COMEDK is an exam which makes you eligible for admission in various colleges. If possible try to attend the counseling program for both of them. But if you want to select the better option in terms of fees and branch allotment then go for COMEDK counseling. COMEDK counseling will provide you selection opportunities in many colleges. So chances of admission in the preffered branch are high. Fees would vary according to your selection of college.

You did not mention the state you belong to and your category,it is difficult to predict the course you might get.Considering you belomg to general category and your homestate is karnataka you might end up with branches like chemocal,biotech,eee,civil.You may not get cse,ece as their  closing rank ranges around 1000.Thank you.

According to previous years cut off rank analysis which is subjective as cut off ranks change every year depending upon current years level of difficulty of examination and no of candidates applying for ece  specifically but if we look at previous years cut off then

For CS branc the cut-off is around 850 to 900(in 2nd round which is the final round

For EC it is about 1500(2nd round)

For EE it is about 2000(2nd round)

And it goes up to 3000 for all the other streams like civil, mechanical and bio tech.

So it looks that you can get.
