Joint Admission Test for M.Sc Programmes
Hello Shaifali!!
In 2019, the cut off for getting admission in IIT,Indore for Metallurgy and materials science was about 14.2k. (lowest) for girls (general). This year, there is hike in reservation quota for girls. Nevertheless, the AIR would not go beyond 15- 16k. So, be in top 15000 for having admission into IIT Indore.
On observation of this year marks vs rank list, it was about 113 marks for 15 k AIR rank. Do better. Good luck.
Being thorough with the syllabus of IIT JAM anf AMU exam is important so that you do not miss any important topics during preparation. Apart from the books studied during graduation, books written specifically for JAM prep will help you to develop an idea of what to expect in the entrance paper along with getting you acquainted with topics to study. Practicing sample papers and old question papers is the best way to put your knowledge to test.
IIT jam is one of the toughest Msc exams and it's a dream to achieve exam for many BSC candidates. Of course before you start, things are going to look difficult.. Once you are in it with dedication, it will work easier.. IIT JAM is a difficult exam not to crack, this is not because of the difficulty level of the questions. Of course, the question asked in the JAM Test are not easy. But IIT JAM is tough because the selection ratio is very low. because the previous year data says that along 11,512 candidates which appeared for the exam in 2017 out of them only 889 were able to get seats in all the colleges available ie including 15 IITS, 16 NITS AND 2 CFTIs, so this means it has a selection ratio of 7.72%.
But don't lose your hope, if you stay focused and work for it with dedication, you'll see flying colors very soon.
Best wishes. Thank you.
