what will be my tnea marks and rank if I secured 88 in phy 85 in maths 83 in chem in class 12 cbse I belong to general category

Amulraj Panneerselvam 20th Jul, 2020

hello lavekushtrivedi,

You have mentioned about TNEA marks. For your clarification, I must say there is nothing named TNEA marks officially. But I take an attempt that you are stating about your Cutoff marks.

Here is how to calculate cutoff marks for TNEA application:

  1. Collect up your marks in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
  2. divide obtained mark by total marks for respective subjects
  3. then follow the formula below

the cutoff marks= (quotient of maths*100) + (quotient of Physics*50) + (quotient of chemistry*50)

According to the marks, you secured

maths =85/100 = 0.85

physics=88/100 = 0.88

chemistry=83/100=0.83

cutoff mark = (0.85*100)+(0.88*50)+(0.83*50)

=85+44+41.5

=170.5.

your cut-off mark is 170.5.

but we cannot say sure about your rank. because the rank varies year to year based on the marks scored by every student who applied for the TNEA councelling. so kndily wait till the application for closes and the rank will be published later.

sir will I get admission in IMU for B tech in marine engineering with my class 12 kerala state score physics 120/120 chemistry 120/120 mathematics 94/100 .please answer

Shebinsha P K 24th Aug, 2020

Hi there,

Firstly congrats for getting excellent marks in class 12. In order to get admission into Indian Maritime University (IMU) for B. Tech program, you are supposed to appear for their entrance examination (IMU CET - Common Entrance Test).

IMU CET is conducted twice a year in June and December. Since you got above 90% in your class 12, you can easily apply for that entrance exam. Any students above 60% class 12 (for Physics, chemistry and mathematics) are eligible to apply for the exam.

You can go through their site and you can definitely find the syllabus for that exam. The entrance exam is objective in type and it’s duration is 3 hours and the big thing is that it don’t have negative marking. So you can attempt those questions even if you don’t know the answers. If you do well in the entrance exam, then you can easily get an admission.
