Hello student as per source Al-Azhar Medical College and Super Specialty Hospital and DM Wayanad Institute of Medical Sciences have been barred from MBBS admissions for two years, apparently because they lack proper infrastructure.

Feel free to comment if you have any doubt

Is the marks or percentage of B.Sc. affects the ranks in IIT JAM ?? I mean to ask is there any role of B.Sc marks in IIT JAM ??

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 18th Aug, 2019

Hello dear student,

Greetings!

Marks obtained in B.Sc has just the role of fulfilling the eligibility of IIT JAM but it has no role in deciding your rank and results,  these things depend completely on your performance in the entrance. To be eligible for IIT JAM  Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in any stream from any recognized college or university. Percentage Criteria: Students must have obtained minimum 55% marks for general & OBC-NCL candidates and 50% marksfor SC, ST and PwD categories.

thankyou

Hi Im a bsc student Im preparing for iit jam exam for mathematics.. Can I get suggestions for how can I prepare better, and about books?

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 16th Aug, 2019
Hello Aspirant,
Go through the syllabus thoroughly and check which topics you have studied in college and which you have not. This will give you an idea of how much time and energy you need to give to a particular topic.
Next I would suggest you to study from the basic books that are referred in your college syllabus. The book suggestions are:
  • Group Theory: Gallian
  • Real Analysis: Bartle and Sherbert
  • Differential Equations: S.L. Ross or Edward- Penny
  • Linear Algebra: David C Lay and Friedberg
  • Integral and Vector Calculus: M.J. Strauss
  • Differential Calculus: M.J. Strauss
Once you complete all the topics from these books, I would suggest you to go through the books by Samvedna Publication. These books are helpful as they mainly aim for IIT JAM and provide you with topic wise questions that were asked in the previous years. There are a lot of errors in this book but once you have completed the syllabus from the above mentioned books, you would be able to spot the errors. I am suggesting these books as they were helpful to me but it depends on you whether you are comfortable with these books or not.
One important thing is that you should solve all the questions from the previous year papers. This will help you to understand the pattern of the paper.
Join any online test series and keep practicing. This will help you to manage your time for the exam.
All the best!

Students appearing or have passed their graduation are eligible for JAM exam.
And of course, final year B.Sc students are eligible for appearing in IIT JAM EXAMINATION. But before starting the JAM admission, you must have your degree with you.

Ns Student Expert 11th Aug, 2019

Hii..

For Geology Msc eligibility criteria is -

Essential subjects at (10+2) level- Mathematics

Essential subjects in bachelor’s degree along with minimum duration - Geology for three years/six semesters and any two subjects among Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biological Science.

Thus yes maths is compulsory for class 12th for getting admission in MSC zoology through IIT JAM exam.

Hope it helps.
