IIT JAM does not have a paper for Zoology. It has a paper for Biotechnology for admission into Biotechnology as well as Bioscience courses in various institutions. Zoology is not included in them. However candidates holding Bachelor's in Zoology can opt for Biotech. as well as Bioscience also.

Marks obtained in B.Sc has just the role of fulfilling the eligibility of IIT JAM but it has no role in deciding your rank and results, these things depend completely on your performance in the entrance. To be eligible for IIT JAM Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in any stream from any recognized college or university. Percentage Criteria: Students must have obtained minimum 55% marks for general & OBC-NCL candidates and 50% marksfor SC, ST and PwD categories.

After clearing IIT JAM you may get admission into one of the reputed and recognised IIT in India. There you may proceed with the MSc. in Biotechnology, or any other relevant and elligible stream or course.
You will be placed within the campus in IIT of course. It offers best placement throughout India.

For Geology Msc eligibility criteria is -
Essential subjects at (10+2) level- Mathematics
Essential subjects in bachelor’s degree along with minimum duration - Geology for three years/six semesters and any two subjects among Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biological Science.
Thus yes maths is compulsory for class 12th for getting admission in MSC zoology through IIT JAM exam.
