Every year, around 50,000-60,000 Candidates appear for IIT JAM examination. The maximum number of candidates are usually in mathematics, physics and chemistry, while the number of students is minimum in MS (mathematical statistics).
The exact number of candidates is not available yet, but for MS, it is around 4-5

It is difficult to evaluate the rank from the marks right now but according to calculations, I would suggest that your rank would be something around 230 and with that rank under SC category you can go for admission in:

  • MSc in Biotechnology at IIT Bombay

With 18.9 marks in IIT JAM biotechnology from SC category you have a very skim chance of qualifying for any of the top University is in India as cutoff for Biotechnology are quite high. It would be difficult to evaluate the rank from the marks you have provided, but looking
