there is no replacement of hardwork. you can get a rank below 100 in iit jam if you do systematic study and manage your time welland be conceptually clear in all the topics. just make sure that you cover each and every portion of the syllabus and dont leave anything unattended. hope it helps.

My brothers rank is AIR 242. will he get admission in IIT for MSC mathematics.? (category- general)

SHANMUKHI_1525918212 Student Expert 28th Mar, 2019

Hi Varsha!
First of all, a very hearty congratulations to your brother for his rank. In the general category, the cut-off marks for MSC Mathematics are 22.96. So, if your brother's marks are above that, then he will definitely get an admission in an IIT for MSC Mathematics.
Let me know if this answer was helpful and wish him all the very best for his future!

Even though have not matsh in 12plus and in graduation can I eligible to iit jam geology to apply sir

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 26th Mar, 2019

Dear Anil, for M.Sc Applied Geology, you should have studied Geology for 3 years/six semesters and any 2 subjects among Physics, Chemistry, Biological Science and Mathematics. It is mandatory to have studied Mathematics at 10+2 level. Even for M.Sc (Tech) in Applied Geology, you should have studied B.Sc with Geology  as Honours/Major/Main/Equivalent subject and 2 subsidary subjects between Physics, Chemistry and Mahematics. Even for this course, it is mandatory to have Mathematics at 10+2 level.

So unfortunately without studying Mathematics at 10+2 level, you cannot study Geology through IIT JAM.
