I got mathematics 30.67 marks . And 1558 rank in OBC . Can i get nit in NSR round of CCMN . Because i have not 60%

Nivesh Pai 31st May, 2019
Hello jitendra,
You need to have a minumum of 65% in PCM score in your 12th boards. Even if you have scored a rank less than 2k you are not eligible for admission. You can try giving the improvement examination or get admission in other state colleges where jee main percentile is considered for admission process.

I want to crack iit jam biotechnology (integrated program). please help me with some suggestions and where do i start the prepration from?

manasa Student Expert 26th May, 2019
There are very less number of seats offered in Biotechnology. The following are some tips to Crack IIT jam :
  • Biology and chemistry questions in the exam are based from 10+2+3 level. Mathematics and Physics syllabus is based on only 10+2 level.
  • Biochemistry covers the maximum marking in biology section of the exam. Thus, it is required that the aspiring candidates must start their preparation from basics.
  • Their more focus should be on learning concepts rather than memorizing the facts.
  • Mechanics covers the highest marks in physics section. Organic Chemistry is the most important topic within the Chemistry section.
  • Mock tests and sample papers are necessary, and students should practice them on regular basis to brush up the concepts.
  • Focusing on maths is very important to crack this exam.

I want to become a microbiologist in cellbiology now jam in class 12 what should be my next steps for my destination plz help

SOUVIK 23rd May, 2019

Hello Harshul,

Microbiologists need at least a bachelor’s degree in microbiology or a closely related field such as biochemistry or cell biology. Many colleges and universities offer degree programs in biological sciences, including microbiology. Most microbiology majors take introductory courses in microbial genetics and microbial physiology before taking classes in more advanced topics such as environmental microbiology and virology.

Students also must take classes in other sciences, such as biochemistry, chemistry, and physics, because it is important for microbiologists to have a broad understanding of the sciences. Courses in statistics, mathematics, and computer science are important for microbiologists because they must be able to do complex data analysis. It is important for prospective microbiologists to have laboratory experience before entering the workforce. Most undergraduate microbiology programs include a mandatory laboratory requirement, but additional laboratory coursework is recommended. Students also can gain valuable laboratory experience through internships with prospective employers such as drug manufacturers. Microbiologists typically need a Ph.D. to carry out independent research and work in colleges and universities. Graduate students studying microbiology commonly specialize in a subfield such as bacteriology or immunology. Ph.D. programs usually include class work, laboratory research, and completing a thesis or dissertation.

Bachelor Courses:

Below is the list of courses that one can pursue in the field of microbiology. The duration of these courses is three years.

Bachelor of Science in Microbiology

Bachelor of Science in Applied Microbiology

Bachelor of Science in Industrial Microbiology

Bachelor of Science in Food Technology

Bachelor of Science in Clinical Microbiology

Best colleges to pursue Microbiology are:

Amity University

Bharath University, Chennai

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya

Jiwaji University, Faculty of Sciences & Faculty of Life Sciences

Delhi University

Christian Medical College, Vellore
