Eligibility
To get Admission in IIST, you need to apply on IIST website for admission. Admission Portal of IIST opens in last week of June. A rank list will be generated based on the marks you score in JEE Advance

As you have not mentioned the name of college so it is not possible to guide you properly.
Generally you have to score 75% or more for seating in entrance exams for different fields like engineering, medical and so on but different colleges have different eligibility criteria of 10+2 percentage.

Many of the colleges which provides admissions strictly on merit basis do consider class 12th marks so if you are eligible for a particular course at 60% marks then you will surely get the admission.
But also there are some colleges which provides admission on entrance based examination and with minimum of 50% marks in 12th standard to be eligible to sit in the entrance examination.
So all the options of taking admission through entrance examination are open for you.
