The new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) category is introduced in the NIRF Ranking 2025. This new parameter marks a significant advancement in measuring how higher education institutions contribute to global sustainability and social inclusion efforts. This new parameter introduced a robust, multidimensional assessment that aligns the Indian higher education system with global sustainability standards. The SGD recognises and evaluates colleges and universities for their initiatives that align with the 17 SDGs adopted by the United Nations.
