IIT JAMis an entrance exam conducted by IITs every year to provide admission into various MSc(Full time), MSc-Phd dual degree, Int-Phd, MSc-Mtech and other post graduate programs.

There are seven papers (objective) on the following subjects:-

  2. Biotechnology (BT)

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D) has announced JAM eligibility criteria 2017 for admissions to postgraduate degree in sciences including Ph.D and M.Sc.-Ph.D dual degrees offered at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

There is no MCA.

The JAM 2017 appearing candidates should have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate of the subjects including languages and subsidiaries of all the years combined. Those however belonging to SC/ST and PwD categories need to secure at least 50% marks in aggregate of the subjects.

This basically depends on students like what subject they want to go for as per their interest and potential and the choice for the same varies person to person. And as per my view, BioTech is better.
