It is mandatory for all students appearing in JEE (Mains) to study at least 5 subjects . Physics and Maths should be the main subjects. It also includes chemistry, language and one more subject which can be biology/ biotech / Vocational subjects etc.

The 75% eligibility criteria is for the total aggregate that  a candidate needs to score or be in the top 20 percentile of you respective board. Please do not confuse it with only PCM aggregate. It is the overall performance.
