    Aligarh Muslim University will offer admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes based on the entrance test scores. The university will conduct an AMU entrance test for admission to various post graduate courses as well as some of the UG courses offered by the university. AMU will offer admission to some undergraduate courses based on the scores of the CUET entrance exam. The scores obtained in entrance tests play a significant role in the AMU selection process for different courses. Candidates should check the AMU eligibility criteria before applying for admission. The AMU application process starts in March 2025, aspirants should apply before the deadline.

    AMU 2025 Selection Process

    The selection process for AMU usually involves the following steps:

    • Submission of AMU Application: Candidates should register and submit the application form of AMU by visiting the official website.

    • Admit Card: Candidates should download the AMU hall ticket by using their login credentials to appear for the entrance examination.

    • Entrance Exam: Aspirants should appear for the CUET or AMU entrance examination as per the programme they have applied for.

    • Result: The results of the AMU entrance exam or the CUET 2025 exam should be checked by the candidates who have appeared for the exam.

    • Merit list: The university will release the AMU merit list based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam.

    • Counselling Process: The shortlisted candidates will be called for the AMU counselling session where candidates have to submit all the important documents to finalise their admission.

    AMU Eligibility Criteria 2025

    To be considered for admission to various courses offered by AMU, candidates must fulfil the AMU eligibility. The eligibility criteria of AMU may include meeting the minimum educational qualifications, scoring a certain percentage in the qualifying exam, and satisfying any other requirements specified by the university.

    Senior Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate

    M.Sc Home Science

    B.Sc (Hons) Home Science with at least 60% marks in aggregate

    M.Sc Biotechnology

    Bachelors’ degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences(the candidates who studied Chemistry as one of the subsidiary subjects are also considered as eligible), Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, and/ or a Bachelors’ degree in B.Tech or M.B.B.S or B. Pharma with minimum 55 percent marks.

    Successfully completed M.Sc I year in relevant discipline with minimum 55 percent marks

    A B.Sc degree under a pattern of education other than 10+2+3

    M.Sc Agriculture (Nematology)

    B.Sc (Agriculture) or B.Sc (Forestry) or B.Sc (Horticulture) with at least 55% marks in aggregate

    Or B.Sc Botany? Zoology/ Chemistry as major subjects and the other two as subsidiary subjects

    Or B.Sc Life Science/ Biosciences/ Biotechnology/ B.Sc Biochemistry with at least 55% marks in aggregate as well as in the main subject

    M.Sc (Agriculture) Plant Pathology

    B.Sc (Agriculture) or B.Sc (Forestry) or B.Sc (Horticulture) with at least 55% marks in aggregate

    Or B.Sc (Biosciences or Life Sciences) with Botany as the main subject

    Or B.Sc Botany with at least 55% marks in aggregate

    M.Sc (Agriculture) Microbiology

    B.Sc (Agriculture) or B.Sc (Biosciences) or B.Sc (Microbiology) or B.Sc (Industrial Microbiology) or B.Sc (Biochemistry or B.Sc (Biotechnology) or B.Sc (Bioinformatics) or B.Sc(Molecular Biology) with at least 55 percent aggregate.

    Or B.Sc (Life Sciences) with one amongst Botany, Biotechnology, Zoology, Microbiology, Chemistry as main and other two as subsidiary subjects or any three subjects having equal value with at least 55 percent marks in aggregate as well as the main subject

    M.Sc (Agriculture) Entomology

    B.Sc (Agriculture) or B.Sc (Horticulture) or B.Sc (Forestry) with at least 55% marks in aggregate

    Or B.Sc (Biosciences / Life sciences) with Zoology as the main subject

    Or B.Sc Zoology with at least 55% marks in aggregate

    M.A Social Work

    Must complete B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com/ B.S.W/ B.Tech/ B. Arch/ B.E/ M.B.B.S/ B.D.S/ B.R.T.T/ B.U.M.S/ B.B.A/ B.C.A/ B.A.LL.B with 50% marks aggregate

    B.Sc (Hons) Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, Geology, Statistics, Industrial chemistry, Computer Applications

    Senior Secondary School Certificate equivalent examination with a minimum 55 per cent marks aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ mathematics

    For B.Sc (Hons) with Physics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications as the main subject, the candidate must pass Mathematics in the qualifying examination

    B.Sc (Hons) Home Science

    Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent with minimum 55% marks aggregate in English and three subjects amongst Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Home Science

    B.Sc (Hons) Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry

    Senior Secondary School Certificate equivalent with a minimum 55 per cent marks aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics

    For B.Sc (Hons) with Botany or Zoology as the main subject, should pass Biology in the Qualifying examination

    B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture

    Senior Secondary School Certificate in Agriculture or in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths/ Biology or an equivalent exam with 45 percent marks in aggregate

    B.Com (Hons)

    Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Commerce) or equivalent examination with minimum 55% marks in aggregate in English and Accounts and two subjects from amongst Economics, Business Studies, Business Organisation, Commerce, Banking, Entrepreneurship, Mathematics and/ or Statistics

    Must have a diploma in the Secretarial Practice examination of the university with not less than 55% marks aggregate(only theory subjects)

    B.A (Hons)

    Senior Secondary School Certificate equivalent examination with a minimum 50% marks aggregate in English and three subjects amongst Accountancy, Arabic, Banking, Biology, Biotechnology, Business Organisation, Business Studies, Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, Education, English, Fine Arts, Geography, Hindi, History, Home Science, Islamic Studies, Mathematics, Persian, Philosophy, Physical Health Education, Physics, Political Science/ Civics, Psychology, Sanskrit, Sociology, Statistics, Urdu and Modern Indian Languages( Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi and Kashmiri)

    Must have a Degree/ Sanad from a recognised Madarsa/ Institute with minimum 50 percent marks

    Should have completed a bridge course(for Graduates of Deeni Madaris) from AMU with minimum 50 percent marks

    Note: In addition to the entrance exam, AMU also has specific eligibility criteria that candidates must meet to be considered for admission.

    Aligarh Muslim University will conduct the AMU entrance test for BSc (Hons) for faculty of Science/Life Sciences on April 12.

    Dear Student,
