NIRF Ranking for Colleges 2024: In an unprecedented move, Hindu College has taken the first position of NIRF colleges from Miranda House College this year. The announcement came when the Ministry of Education published the NIRF college ranking 2024 on August 12. The Delhi-based Miranda House College is pushed to second position this year. Tamil Nadu has only 2 colleges in the list of top 10 India colleges, down from three.

The NIRF ranking for colleges 2024 is based on Research Productivity, Impact and IPR (RPII), Graduation Outcome (GO) and some other parameters. NIRF ranking for colleges 2024 ranks different institutions based on five different parameters. The five parameters are Teaching, Learning & Resources, Research Productivity, Impact and IPR, Outreach and Inclusivity, Graduation Outcome and Perception.a, Gujarat, Pondicherry and Chandigarh had only one such college. West Bengal had 8 colleges in the NIRF 2023 ranking list with St. Xavier’s College, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College at the top. Maharashtra and Karnataka had respectively 3 and 2 such colleges that occupy the space in the NIRF college list.

Students can take admission in such colleges through different exams. All the exams have their own eligibility criteria. Students have to fulfil those criteria. Students are advised to get an overview of different exams.
CUET UG- National Testing Agency Conducts the Common University Entrance Test every year in hybrid mode. This exam is for the 10+2 pass out candidates to take admission in the undergraduate colleges. There are about 346 such colleges that accept the result of CUET. This exam is divided into three sections- General, Language and Domain. Counselling of the CUET is done by the participating colleges.
CUET PG- The CUET PG is the entrance exam conducted by the NTA for the post graduation courses. Participating colleges are responsible for the counselling process.
IIT JAM- Joint Admission Test for M.Sc programmes is the yearly exam. It is conducted online for the students who want to take admission in the different Masters of Science programmes. There are only 45 colleges in the country that take the admission of the students through the result of JAM.
NEST- National Elligibility Screening Test is a national level exam conducted by NISER, Bhubaneswar in collaboration with the UM DAE CEBS. Only these two colleges accept the result of the NEST exam. Questions in the NEST ask only from four subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
AP EDCET- Andhra Pradesh State Education Common Entrance Test is the state level entrance exam. The exam is conducted by Andhra University in online mode.
PUBDET- Presidency’s University Bachelor Degree Entrance Test is a state level exam conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). Thi exam is conducted offline. Students will get admission in the Presidency University after qualifying this examination.
CPGEE- Cotton Post Graduate Common Entrance Test is the national level exam conducted by the Cotton University. CPGEE offered different courses at postgraduate level. Students can take this exam in online mode.
NCET- National Common Entrance Test is conducted by NTA every year. It is a national level exam to pursue education in different ITEP courses.

You cannot get admission to engineering courses in Delhi University (DU) through CUET scores .
DU offers engineering courses under its Faculty of Technology, and admissions to these courses are based on JEE Main scores, not CUET.

Admissions for CUET aren't solely based on 2 Non-Med Percentage along with JEE Mains percentile. The eligibility criteria for CUET require students to have scored at least 50% marks in their Class 12th exam for general candidates and 45% for reserved categories.
