JAM Merit List 2018

JAM Merit ListJAM Merit List 2018 – IIT Bombay will declare JAM 2018 merit list along with All India Rank (AIR) for each test paper on the day of declaration of the IIT JAM 2018 result on the official website. The Merit List of JAM 2018 will be announced on March 20, 2018. The JAM 2018 Merit List will contain the names and All India Ranks of all the qualified candidates based on their performance in JAM 2018 examination. Post the declaration of result, all the qualified candidates will be called for submission of JAM Admission Form for admission on the JAM website. The exam will be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay  (IIT-B) on February 11, 2018, for various postgraduate (PG) science programmes including integrated Ph.D., M.Sc, Joint M.Sc-Ph.D, M.Sc-Ph.D dual degree, M.Sc-M.Tech, M.Sc-M.Sc (Research), Ph.D. dual degree and other post-bachelor degree programmes.

The last day to submit admission form after the declaration of IIT JAM merit list 2018 is April 17. Following the submission of admission forms, candidates will have to submit their documents for JAM 2018 latest by April 17, 2018. Based upon the position of candidates in IIT JAM 2018 Merit List, the conducting body will release Admission lists in three rounds that will include names of shortlisted candidates.

 

For each test paper in JAM 2018, an All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned to all the candidates who appeared in JAM 2018 based on the performance of the candidates in the test paper.

 

The All India Merit list for JAM 2018 will be prepared based on the AIR, for each of the test paper. These candidates will be eligible to apply for admission to any of the corresponding academic programmes available at IITs and IISc.

IIT JAM Merit List 2018

 

The All India Rank (AIR) of JAM 2018 will be assigned to the candidates depending on the performance of the candidates in JAM 2018 exam. The candidates with their names appearing in JAM 2018 Merit List can apply for admission in the colleges. The candidates can check their ranks in JAM Merit List 2018 using their user id and password. A separate rank list will be prepared for each paper.

 

JAM 2018 Merit List: What does it consist of?

There will have a separate All India Rank for each JAM 2018 Test paper depending upon the performance of each candidate in their respective paper. JAM Merit List 2018 will include the names of all the qualifying candidates in order of the marks obtained. A separate merit list of JAM 2018 will be prepared for each category. Upon preparation of JAM 2018 Merit List, the candidate becomes eligible to apply for admission in the colleges. The All India Merit List will depend on the number of seats available on any given subject.

 

JAM 2018 Merit List: Breaking a tie

If two or more candidates appearing in JAM 2018 score same marks in any paper, then there is a tie. As per the official website, the tie-breaking criterion in the test paper will be as follows:

  • The candidate with a higher ratio of positive marks to negative marks will be given a higher rank.

  • If this criterion fails to break the tie, the candidates concerned will be awarded the same rank.

Important – The number of candidates mentioned in the JAM Merit List 2018 will depend on the total number of seats available in each category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD) in a given subject.
