CUET PG is a national level entrance exam conducted annually for admission to postgraduate courses offered by the participating institutes. The CUET PG scores are valid for one year only. Changes will be introduced in the CUET paper pattern to ensure better evaluation and assessment as well as ease for the students. In this article, we will discuss the new guidelines for CUET PG 2026 applicants, providing you with all the information you need to know before applying.
Before diving into the new guidelines, let's first understand what CUET PG is all about. CUET is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various postgraduate programmes across India.
The NTA will provide updates on any changes in the CUET PG exam pattern, exam mode, exam duration, total number of questions asked and others details. Stay tuned to this page for regular updates.
The NTA has not yet released any new guidelines for CUET PG 2026. However, students should check changes that were made to the CUET exam last year. By reviewing the updated CUET PG guidelines, candidates can ensure they prepare well to succeed in the examination.
Mode of Examination: The CUET PG exam will be conducted in an online mode.
Syllabus: The exam syllabus of CUET PG might be changed to align with current academic standards, ensuring that candidates are tested on relevant topics.
Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, candidates will receive +4 marks, and for each incorrect answer, -1 mark will be deducted.
Duration: The CUET PG exam duration has been reduced to 90 minutes per subject, down from the previous 105 minutes.
Subject Selection: Students can choose only 4 domain subjects out of all the options provided.
General Test: It is now not mandatory to take the general test, the students will have to check the eligibility criteria of the colleges they want to apply to, according to which they can take the general test.
Form Fees: The application fees for the general category have increased by Rs.200 and for foreign students by Rs.1000.

The CUET PG exam pattern consists of two sections:
Section 1: General Knowledge and Aptitude (for all candidates)
Section 2: Subject-specific questions based on the candidate's chosen field.

Given below are the CUET PG exam day guidelines which candidates should be aware of before appearing for the entrance test.
Candidates are advised to bring their AADHAAR Card as verification of the candidates will be carried out through the verification process.
Aspirants should check the reporting time at the centre, gate closing time, shift timings on the admit card.

Before reaching the CUET PG exam venue, aspirants must enter the required details, paste the photograph, and put a thumb impression at the appropriate place on the admit card.
Aspirants are not allowed to carry any other personal belongings including electronic devices or mobile phones to the CUET PG examination centre.
Blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the CUET PG 2026 exam hall.
