BHU PET 2020 - Banaras Hindu University will release the BHU PET 2020 admit card from April 19 onwards. For all the other exams to be held on different dates, the admit card of BHU PET will be issued 7 days before each respective exam. Banaras Hindu University Postgraduate Entrance Test will be conducted on April 26, May 10, May 22, May 23, May 24, May 26, May 27 and May 29, 2020. The university has activated the BHU PET mock test 2020 for all PG programmes on their official website on February 24. Banaras Hindu University had reopened the application form window of BHU PET 2020 for the registered candidates from March 20 (11:00 pm) till March 21 (11:00 pm). Earlier, the submission deadline of BHU PET application form 2020 was March 12. After commencement of entrance examination, the result of BHU PET 2020 will be declared in the third/ fourth week of June 2020. Candidates who will clear the entrance examination will be invited for the counselling of BHU PET 2020 for the allocation of seats at various campuses of BHU.

BHU PET Eligibility Criteria 2020

Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria of BHU PET 2020 before filling the application form to check whether they are eligible for the programmes they want to apply for. BHU PET 2020 eligibility criteria will vary for different post graduate programmes offered by the university. Candidates must note that if they are found to be not fulfilling the eligibility criteria of BHU PET 2020, their applications will be cancelled even at later stages of admissions.

BHU PET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Institute of Agricultural Sciences

  • Candidates with 4 year B.Sc Agriculture/ B.Sc Hons. Agriculture degree in a credit based course programme are eligible for admission in M.SC programme.

  • Candidates with a four year degree in B.Sc Hons. Horticulture degree in a credit based course programme will be eligible for admission in M.Sc Horticulture.

  • Candidates with four year B.Sc Animal Husbandry and Dairying degree in a credit based course programme will be eligible for admission in M.Sc Animal Husbandry and Dairying.

Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development

  • Candidates who wish to take admission in any of these programmes must have completed B.Sc Hons./ B.Sc under 10+2+3 pattern/ B.Sc Hons. Agriculture/ MBBS/ B.Pharma/ B.E/ B.Tech or an equivalent programme offered by Banaras Hindu University with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Faculty of Arts

  • Applicants must have passed BA (Pass)/ BA (hons.) Arts in 10 + 2+ 3 pattern from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% as aggregate in B.A. level examination excluding all those subjects which required only pass marks and were not included in the final degree marksheet.

  • For admission in M.A ( Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Russian, Marathi, Persian, Nepali and Telugu), PG Diploma/ Advanced Diploma is required along with B. A degree. Candidates must have also scored at least 50% marks in their diploma, advanced diploma programme

  • Candidates must have studied the subject in which he/ she is willing to take admission in all the three years at the undergraduate level.

  • For Statistics, candidates are required to have studied maths at graduation level.

Faculty of Social Sciences

  • Applicants must have passed BA (Pass)/ BA(hons.)/ B.Sc. (Pass)/ B.Sc. (hons.) in 10 + 2 +3 pattern from a recognized university with at least 50% in B.A./ B.Sc. level exam excluding those subjects which required only passing marks and were not included in the final degree marksheet.

  • Candidates must also have studied the subject he seeks admission into at undergraduate level in all the three years.

  • A candidate who have passed B.Sc. (Hons.) Psychology/ B.Sc. with Psychology as hons. subject or a subject studied in all the three years at B.Sc. level is eligible for admission in M.Sc. in Psychology.

  • Any candidate who have passed B.A/ B.Sc./ B.Com/ B.Tech is eligible for admission in M.A Economics.

Faculty of Commerce

  • Candidates must have passed B.Com (Pass)/ B.Com. (hons.) in 10 + 2 +3 pattern from a recognised university with at least 50% as minimum aggregate in B.Com level excluding those courses which are not included in the final degree mark sheet and require only passing marks.

  • Candidate must have studied the subject he/ she is applying for in all the three years at the undergraduate level.

Institute of Science

  • Candidates seeking admission into PG programmes offered by Institute of Science must passed B.Sc. (pass)/ B.Sc. (hons.) in 10 + 2 + 3 pattern from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate in all science subjects at B.Sc. Level except for those subjects which are not included in the final degree marksheet.

  • For M.Sc Zoology and M.Sc Botany, candidates must have also studied Chemistry at graduation level.

  • For M.Sc Statistics, candidates must have also studied Mathematics at graduation level.

  • For M.Sc Computer Science, candidates must have studied Computer Science and not IT, Computer Applications at graduation level.

  • Candidates must have studied the subject in which he/ she is seeking admission as one of his/ her subjects at the graduation level.

BHU PET Eligibility Criteria 2020 – Relaxations

There is no percentage criteria for candidates belonging to SC/ ST category. Candidates must have cleared the qualifying examination and appeared for the entrance examination.

OBC/ PC

There is 5% relaxation in the minimum percentage aggregate to be scored in the qualifying exam for OBC and PC categories.

BHU PET Application Form 2020

Banaras Hindu University had reopened the window for BHU PET 2020 application form for the registered candidates to complete their application from March 20 (11:00 pm) till March 21 (11:00 pm). The application form of BHU PET 2020 was released on January 30, 2020. Candidates who wish to take admission in PG courses offered by the university could fill the BHU PET 2020 application form till March 12. To fill the application form of BHU PET 2020, candidates need to register themselves by visiting the BHU entrance test portal and entering the details such as name, date of birth, email ID, mobile number, etc. After registration is completed, candidates need to fill authentication form. Upon the successful authentication, candidates need to fill up the BHU PET 2020 application form by entering academic, personal and contact details. They also have to select the exam centre preferences and choices of course while filling out the application form of BHU PET 2020. After filling up the required details, candidates need to upload the photograph and signature to complete the application form. Candidates had both the options - online and offline - for fee payment against the BHU PET 2020 application form.

BHU PET Exam Centres 2020

The entrance examination for admission in PG courses of Banaras Hindu University will be conducted in over 199 exam centres of BHU PET 2020. Candidates have to select BHU PET 2020 exam centres in the order of their preference in the application form. The online entrance examination will be conducted in all 28 states on April 26, May 10, May 22, May 23, May 24, May 26, May 27 and May 29, 2020. Candidates can check their BHU PET exam centres 2020 in the admit card. BHU holds every right to cancel an exam centre without any reason or due to insufficient number of candidates opting for the concerned centre. For MPed, MPA and MFA, the entrance examination will be held at the exam centre fixed by the university.

BHU PET Admit Card 2020

The university will release the admit card of BHU PET 2020 a week before each PETfor the candidates who will successfully fill and submit the application form. To download the BHU PET 2020 admit card, candidates need to visit the BHU entrance test portal and login with the help of their registered login ID. BHU admit card 2020 mentions the important details related to the entrance exam like candidate’s name, course appearing for exam, exam centre, DOB, age, and so on. Candidates need to carry the admit card of BHU PET 2020 along with aadhar card to the examination hall to be able to sit for the entrance examination. Additionally, it is advised that the BHU admit cards for PG courses are retained by the candidates till the time of admission for further references.

BHU PET 2020 – Exam Day Instructions

Candidates appearing for BHU PET 2020 must adhere to the given below instructions on the day of examination.

  • No candidate will be allowed to appear in the entrance exam hall before the start of examination.

  • No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall till the end of examination.

  • Candidates are given question booklet and answer booklet separately.

  • All the questions had four options to choose the correct answer from. Candidates are to mark only one option on the OMR sheet.

  • Candidates need to carry their admit card along with a valid photo ID proof, else they will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test.

  • Applicants can only use Black/ Blue ball/ink pen.

  • Candidates must refrain from striking off options which they have already encircled.

BHU PET Exam Pattern 2020

Marking Scheme of BHU PET 2020

  • Each correct answer will be awarded with three marks.

  • Since the negative marking is applicable, each incorrect answer will lead to a deduction of one mark.

  • Non-attempted question will be given a zero mark.

  • Furthermore, answers improperly marked (marking more than one oval in the sheet, improper darkening of ovals, line or cross marks) will be treated incorrect thus leading to a deduction of one mark.

BHU PET Sample Paper 2020

Candidates preparing for BHU postgraduate entrance test 2020 must solve the sample paper of BHU PET 2020 for preparing for the entrance examination. Banaras Hindu University has activated the BHU PET 2020 mock test window on their official website on February 24. The university offers the aspirants a chance to practice the BHU PET mock test so that they practice better to score good in the entrance test. BHU PET mock test 2020 entails all those questions that were questioned in the previous years entrance exams which helps the students to stay well aware with the difficulty level of the questions and minimise the time taken to finish all the questions. BHU PET Answer Key 2020

BHU will release BHU PET 2020 answer key for various PG courses on April 29 and May 31, 2020. To download the answer key of BHU PET 2020, candidates need to visit BHU entrance test portal and enter their login credentials. With the help of BHU PET answer key 2020, candidates can assess their performance in the entrance examination. If a candidate finds any discrepancy with the answer key of BHU PET 2020, he or she can raise an objection to the Office of the Controller of Examination in the stipulated time. After taking into account all the objections, the university will release final BHU PET answer key 2020.

BHU PET Result 2020

Candidates who will appear on Banaras Hindu University Entrance Test can check the result of BHU UET 2020 in the third/ fourth week of June 2020. Banaras Hindu University will release BHU PET 2020 cut off in the first week of July 2020. The cut off of BHU PET 2020 will be released for all courses and categories. BHU PET Merit List 2020

The university will release BHU PET 2020 merit list after the declaration of results and cut offs in online mode. The merit list of BHU PET 2020 will be announced separately for different PG courses including M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., etc. The admissions to various PG programmes offered by the university will be done taking into account the rank of candidates in the BHU PET 2020 merit list. For programmes having both practical and theory, merit list of BHU PET 2020 will be made on the basis of combined scores. BHU PET merit list 2020 includes candidates who will be considered as qualified as per the cut off marks released for different programmes.

BHU PET Counselling 2020

The counselling of BHU PET 2020 will be done by the respective departments of various programmes from the first week of July, 2020. Only those candidates will be shortlisted for counselling of BHU PET 2020 who will qualify in BHU Postgraduate Entrance Test 2020 and fulfil the eligibility criteria.

  • Candidates shortlisted for BHU PET counselling 2020 will be sent electronic call letters which they will be able to access in the ‘candidate segment’ in the BHU candidate portal.

  • After downloading the call letter of BHU PET 2020 counselling, candidates need to login in the candidate’s section of entrance test portal. They are required to fill an online preference entry form.

  • Candidates need to fill the choice of course, seat type and preference of location in the entry form.

  • Candidate’s then need to report at the counselling venue where they need to sign the preference entry form. No further changes will be done after signing the preference entry form.

  • On the next day of counselling, candidates are required to collect the provisional admission letter.

  • Candidates can check the allotted course, admission fee and deadline of paying the fee in the provisional admission letter of BHU PET 2020.

  • Pay the admission fee using a credit card, debit card through the payment gateway of the entrance test portal or through cash at the fee counters.
