In a conversation with Careers360, Director General of National Testing Agency (NTA), Vineet Joshi has confirmed that the JNUEE, DUET and ICAR AIEEA 2020 examinations will be conducted after the month of July. He also confirmed that the admit card will be released at least 21 days before the examination.
The agency will try all its possible ways to declare the results as early as possible, to ensure that there is no delay in the upcoming academic session.
Speaking of examinations schedule, Joshi said “ We are consulting with our partner organization. The discussions are on and very soon we will come up with the dates”
NTA is trying to connect with lots of new schools and institutes for adding exam centres. The agency is also closely coordinating with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
“We will try to ensure that the students get their first priority of exam centre, to minimize the travel distance,” said Joshi
Addressing the concerns of foreign applicants he said “We are constantly monitoring the situation. If the international travel doesn’t resume by the time examination is scheduled, we will make some provisions for those students”.
It must be noted that until 2018, JNUEE, DUET and ICAR AIEEA were conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University and Indian Council of Agricultural Research respectively. Since then, NTA overtook the responsibility of conducting these examinations
Joshi hinted that the agency is also gearing up to conduct proctored exams for some smaller examinations. However, the same is not confirmed yet. If this is ratified, applicants will be allowed to write examinations from their home.
The director said we will ensure safety to students in the exam hall and proper social distancing norms will be followed. Students must only focus on their preparations. Parents and students should not worry about the safety measures as the collective security measures will be taken by the authority at the exam centres. “At the same time, we also expect the same from students. Students are expected to follow the guidelines on how to stand, how to cooperate with the examination staff and how to maintain their personal hygiene inside the examination hall. NTA will release the guidelines for the same very soon” he added.
He advised the parents and guardians to not visit the exam centres unless it is extremely important. There will be different time slots for entries in the examination hall. The time slots of individual candidates will be mentioned in their admit card to avoid crowding.
“While we try to achieve the goal of starting the academic session on time, we should also be able to ensure complete safety and give a feeling of a good environment to the students. There should not be any anxiety on anybody's mind that he or she is not in a safe place,” said DG. The agency is planning to keep volunteers to ensure that the students are standing in an ordered manner outside the exam hall.
