Going through the syllabus is crucial for preparation because one cannot begin their plan without a thorough understanding of the CUET Physics curriculum. The CUET 2025 will held in May or June Month. So, students have time to prepare for the CUET 2025 exam with full concentration. Hence, we have worked with the entrance exam experts (who understand NTA paper patterns very well) to identify the most comprehensive study plan to prepare for the CUET 2025 Physics paper (Section II domain subject).
Check the step-by-step plan to study Physics for the CUET exam 2025 below.
Preparing for the CUET 2025 physics paper without knowing the scope of the exam will not be a very wise decision. Students must know about the topics that they have not studied at all, topics which are important and topics that are not the part of the CUET Physics syllabus 2025. But, first let’s see a very simple venn diagram of how the syllabus of the CUET sits within the ecosystem of exams students are expected to give in the next 2-3 months.
As you can see, the CUET syllabus 2025 kind of sits in the sweet middle, where you, if as a serious IIT/NEET aspirant, must have already covered NCERT Class 12 syllabus. Otherwise, you might have to cover some deleted portions of your respective boards to be CUET exam ready.
First, you have to understand the chapters or topics from NCERT Class 12 textbook that you have not studied, as all boards were operating under reduced syllabus in 2021-22. Below is the chapter & topic-wise breakdown where according to the CUET physics syllabus provided by NTA for July 2025 paper, we have compared all the topics that are covered (✔) or not taught in 2021-22 (*) in IIT, NEET, CBSE, ISC or UP boards.
This chart is given for Chapter 1 (Electric Charges and Fields) to give you a clear idea of where you currently stand in terms of your coverage of CUET 2025 physics syllabus so far.
To check the chart for the complete CUET 2025 Physics syllabus - Click Here
Some key points to know -
Topics that are crossed off are the ones that were not covered in the respective boards as part of the reduced syllabus for 2021-22.
Students have to attempt 40 MCQ out of 50, which means they will get a choice of 10 MCQ, which will get consumed in topics they have not studied in their board exam. So, in essence, they may not have enough choice after all.
ISC and UP board students are at a bigger disadvantage than CBSE board in terms of readiness for CUET physics papers 2025.

Next, based on the official CUET Physics mock test as well as past 4 years of CUET physics section papers (excluding the Class 11 questions from them), we have prepared a chart of important chapters or units which will help you to understand what chapters are important as per NTA.
Students can get a good idea of what percentage of questions will come from which chapter or unit in the CUET physics paper from the above chart. Some important points to consider:
Unit 1 and Unit 3 combined can comprise 40% of CUET Physics paper.
Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance (Chapter 2), Current Electricity (Chapter 3) and Semiconductor Electronics (Chapter 14) are the three most important chapters to revise first.
Communication systems (Chapter 15) of NCERT is rarely part of most boards syllabus and (hence) only 1 MCQ has been asked. You can save time by not studying this chapter.
Choices of 10 MCQ will be given. This means, one case-based question of 5 MCQ each (which will come from the same chapter) can be completely left un attempted to save time, provided you are comfortable in other MCQs.
This information will help students in clearly understanding the focus chapters and topics and what part of the CUET physics syllabus they have to study from fresh in these last few weeks. Candidates should make their own CUET study plan based on the above information to figure out your focus chapters and topics.
We won’t be giving you a breakdown of how many days to spend on each chapter as it absolutely depends on your prior knowledge and not every student can apply the same speed to cover the CUET Entrance Exam syllabus. What we will provide here is how to best cover the syllabus study in minimal time and maximum conceptual clarity.
Chapter-wise theory
Studying the complete NCERT chapter again may be too repetitive, as you would cover them for your boards anyway. Nor would it be possible to study the deleted chapters or topics from scratch. We have added a really useful visual chart to every single chapter, which covers:
All topics
All possible formulas
All conceptual diagrams (labelled)
All important points and definitions
Examples with correct units
Chapter 2 - Mind Map Physics CUET 2025
It is very important to refer to these visual maps that are specially designed on Class 12 NCERT Physics for the CUET 2025 Physics paper. Although we have given the Chapter Map for 1 chapter above. To easily access all other chapter maps as well, you can buy this special CUET Physics practice book by Educart that includes all the chapter objective mind maps in one place for all-inclusive revision.
Chapter-wise practice
CUET is an entrance exam (just like JEE, NEET) and it will also have a difficulty level that is slightly higher than your board exams. When we deeply analysed the official CUET physics mock test that was uploaded by NTA, we noticed that the questions were of the same difficulty level as that of NCERT examples (a practice book that NCERT provides for chapter-wise questions).
Since, the whole paper will be 100% based on NCERT syllabus, the best way to cover all important topics for chapter-wise practice is NCERT exemplar MCQs. So, we did the hard work of identifying all important NCERT exemplar official MCQs per chapter (out of lots of other typology questions) and compiling them in one place chapter-wise along with detailed explanations.
These are the total number of NCERT exemplar MCQs chapter-wise you can practise on different typologies (Match the following, Assertion-Reason, Standalone, etc) to cover exact CUET exam physics difficulty level questions as part of the overall chapter-wise practice.
Students can check NCERT Physics exemplar MCQs as it provides the best selected NCERT MCQs with detailed explanations and related theory as well for conceptual clarity.
Step 3 - Mock papers on exact Physics pattern
NTA will upload their official CUET mock test on their portal for a small duration, enough for us to get a clear idea of the paper pattern. Below are some new typology questions that are asked in the official mock test.
A typical board exam paper (if in MCQ format like it was in term 1 or semester 1) will give candidates 1.5 to 2 hours to attempt a 40-60 MCQ paper. But the CUET 2025 Physics paper will ask 40 MCQ to answer in just 45 minutes.
Based on the official NTA CUET mock test 2025, we have prepared a time management chart for students to try and practise the different MCQ types that will be asked within a given time frame to complete the whole paper on time. This is the most important practice at this step that students will have to do, to attempt 100% paper in their CUET May 2025 Physics paper.
Typology | Total MCQs (5 marks each) | Time to be Spent |
Stand Alone | 35 MCQs | <1 min per MCQ |
Numerical/Statement-based Match the Following Choose the Correct Sequence | 5 MCQs | 1 min per MCQ |
Case-based | 20 (5 MCQs each) | 2 min reading time + 1 min per MCQ |
Total Marks | 200 (40 out of 50 MCQs) | 45 minutes |
To practise CUET 2025 Physics Mock Test by Educart (With Solutions) - Click here
The table below shows the type of MCQs that will be asked and how much time you need to spend depending on the MCQ type.
Hence, it’s very important to keep a tab on time you will be spending on each MCQ.
The strategy of practising CUET mock test paper wise has to be two-fold:
Past year papers (CUET physics, 2018-2021)
At Least 10 model mock papers (Based on official NTA CUET mock test)
We will now provide an exhaustive and most suitable preparation material for timed practice of correct pattern and relevant MCQs paper-wise for CUET Physics paper.
Past year CUET Papers
CUCET was conducted until 2021-22 on a similar MCQ pattern. So, one should mandatorily practise past CUET Physics question papers to understand the type of questions that were asked previously. But, there is a twist, until last year Class 11 and Class 12 questions were asked in the CUET Physics exam and this year only Class 12 syllabus is examinable. Hence, we have shortlisted and compiled (with solutions) only the examinable Class 12 CUET Physics past year papers. Students can see some questions below -
Official 2018 CUET Physics CBT Paper (excluding Class 11 questions)
Remember, we have taken this content from the CUET Educart Physics Practice book, which includes all 4 years (2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018) CUET physics papers with detailed explanations. Something no other CUET book is providing so accurately (excluding the Class 11 MCQs) in the market.
Final CUET mock tests (Based on official NTA Mock Test)
The primary question is, where does one practice from on the exact pattern? It is extremely important for the students to attempt at least 10 CUET Physics mock test papers (refer to the time management chart to time yourself) for the final practice in the last 10-15 days. Practising the correct CUET exam pattern 2025 is important for students to become familiar with the type of MCQs that will come and thus the actual paper comes across as relatively easy.
Students should keep in mind that practising as many as possible CUET Physics mock papers on the correct pattern is most important to avoid surprises during the actual paper. They must remember that it is very important to practise from these past year papers and mock papers after completing the chapter-wise revision for a one-shot final preparation for the CUET exam 2025.
Attempt now: CBT Mock Test

Hello ayush hope you are doing well
BSc is a future oriented course which emphasis on research as well as teaching oriented degree It gives you a depth on that subject But it depends on your future what you want to do. Btech is industry based course and Bsc is a research based academic degree and NEET is a entry level of professional course If you have enough courage to take a drop and crack any entrance of Engineering or neet for good colleges then you can drop a year. But firstly make sure that your drop year should be worth enough in future.it totally depends on you how you are going to spend your coming year.
If you are not sure about any of these courses and want to take admission this year go for bachelor in science in private universities as they still open their admission process.
