Given below are the CUET exam day guidelines which candidates should be aware of before appearing for the entrance test.
Before leaving the home to appear for the examination, candidates should make sure that they have all the mandatory documents like admit card and ID proof.
Candidates are advised to reach the examination centre 1-2 hours before the entrance exam begins. It must also be noted that they will not be allowed to enter the CUET exam centre 30 minutes prior to the exam commencement.
Candidates with benchmark disability (PwD) will be provided compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination.
Candidates should be very careful while attempting any answer as there is negative marking in the CUET.
They have to paste a recent photograph of themselves on the CUET admit card.
Without the admit card, candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination centre.
Candidates should carry as few things as possible as most of the items are not allowed inside the examination centre.
Aspirants who will appear in the CUET UG exam 2026 must follow a dress code for CUET. The CUET 2026 dress code is an important aspect that applicants need to follow while appearing for the exam. CUET exam dress code for females and males 2026, all candidates are required to wear light-coloured half-sleeve shirts or t-shirts with trousers. According to the CUET dress code, candidates are not allowed to wear shoes, belts, jewellery, or heels. CUET candidates should only be wearing slippers.

Candidates who submitted their CUET application form can download the admit card by using their login credentials such as application number and password or date of birth in the official website. The CUET admit card contains various key details like the candidate’s name, gender, roll number, photograph, signature, subject of exam, exam duration, centre code, reporting time, name, and address of the exam centre.

Although there is typically no formal dress code for CUET, NTA recommends wearing plain, loose-fitting clothing. Clothes with big pockets, metallic content, caps, or too much jewellery should be avoided. Candidates with special attire due to religious/customary grounds are requested to report in advance for proper checking. Footwear such as shoes may be required to be taken off outside the hall at times.
In the case of system issues in CUET, students are advised to raise their hand immediately and inform the invigilator.
Students are advised to reach the exam centre well before the reporting time mentioned on your admit card, typically at least 1.5 to 2 hours before the CUET exam starts.
Items allowed inside CUET centre include your Admit Card, Photo ID, passport photo(s), a
simple transparent ballpoint pen, a personal transparent water bottle, and any specific items permitted for PwD candidates (like scribe documents) if applicable. Always verify the allowed items list on your admit card.
Candidates are not permitted to leave the CUET exam hall before the scheduled end time of the exam, even if they finish early.
Candidates need to carry hard copy of the CUET admit card, any valid ID proof (Aadhaar
