I am currently in 2nd year of Bsc Biotech, when should i start preparing for GAT-B or IIT-JAM and more importantly what is the differnce between these two examinations?
Dear Student,
You can start your preparation whenever you want to. Just remember one thing, revision is a must. You must do revise the topic once in a week, once in two weeks and once in a month. This will help to remember the topic more.
Tips you can follow :-
- Keep syllabus and previous year papers by your side.
- Refer to good and effective notes and books
- Solve mock tests
- Follow the exam pattern and time in your last days of preparation.
IIT JAM is a common entrance test if you want to get admission for master’s courses such as MSc, Integrated Ph.D., Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD Dual Degree. While GATE examination is a national level exam which aims at providing admissions in the master of technology such as ME, MTech, Ph.D. courses.
JAM Score Card is valid for 1 year while the GATE Exam scores are valid upto 3 years starting from the date of announcement of the result.
GATE scores are only valid for postgraduate admissions and not for PSU recruitment.
Happy Learning!
