Latest: DU Admission Process
Delhi University is expected to release seven DU cutoff lists this year with the first cutoff releasing in between September 7 to 10. When DU first cutoff is released, a lot of candidates cannot get admission in their desired colleges and courses due to high cutoff and have to settle for some other college or course. However, if such candidates meet the cutoff requirements of their desired colleges in DU second or third cutoff then university allows them to withdraw their first admission and take admission in the college and course of their choice.
Candidates have to go through a few procedures to cancel or withdraw their admission from the college. Careers360 has created this article to make this process easier and understandable for students.
Following are the steps to cancel and change the DU college or course -
1. Change the DU college or course
Applicants who wish to change colleges have to cancel their first admission. To cancel the first admission, candidates have to go to the admission portal of Delhi University - du.ac.in and click on the ‘Cancel’ tab. Then, they need to remit a cancellation fee and print out a copy of the cancellation fees slip.
The admission fee at the second college is adjusted automatically if it’s the same as the first college. However, applicants have to pay the balance fee if the admission fee is more than the fees already paid at the formar college. If the fee in the second college is less than the previous one then the balance is refunded to the applicant’s account.
2. Remit the cancellation fee
While cancelling the admission, the fee is refunded to the candidate’s account with a deduction of Rs. 1000. The remaining amount of the admission fee is adjusted automatically as the admission fee of the second college. After completing the cancellation fee process, the students also receive a cancellation slip. They are advised to retain this receipt and print out multiple copies of the slip as it is required during the document verification.
3. Select New Course and College
Now that candidates have completed the cancelled admission to the previous college, they can proceed to choose their desired college and course. For admission to a new college and course, applicants have to visit the official website and log into the UG admission portal. Before starting the selection process, applicants need to make sure that they fulfill the cutoff requirements for the new college and course.
4. Collect original documents from former college
Once candidates have completed their cancellation process, they need to obtain their original certificates or documents from the previously admitted college. After acquiring the documents, applicants are required to submit their original certificates or documents at the new college.
5. Document verification in new college
Applicants need to reach the campus of the selected college on the scheduled dates to attend the documents verification process. They need to carry the following original documents for verification purposes.
Class 10th mark sheet
Class 12th mark sheet and certificate
Transfer certificate
Migration certificate
Candidate’s two passport size photographs
Candidate’s scanned Signature
PWD/SC/ST certificate (If applicable)
OBC - NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate (if applicable)
Income certificate (OBC-NCL)
Kashmir Migrant Certificate (For candidates applying under Kashmir Migrant Quota)
Educational Concession Certificate (Only for CW Quota)
ECA Distinction/ Sports Certificate (Of last three years)
6. Final Fee Payment
After getting the documents verified, candidates have to pay a mandatory fee to claim a seat in the newly admitted college.
Delhi University gives candidates a specific period of time to change college or courses. It should also be known that if a candidate’s application form for admission to a college or course is rejected, they can apply again.
Hello Hema Gulati,
With a CUET PG LLM score of 89, gaining admission to the Faculty of Law at Delhi University (DU) is highly unlikely. Based on previous years' data, the expected cutoffs for the DU LLM program are significantly higher: (https://collegedunia.com/exams/cuet-pg/cutoff?utm_source=chatgpt.com)
General Category : Approximately 230–240
OBC Category : Around 220–230
SC Category : Between 210–218
ST Category : Approximately 198–210
These cutoffs are based on factors such as the number of applicants, seat availability, and exam difficulty. Your score of 89 falls well below these thresholds, making it improbable to secure a seat in the DU LLM program. Careers360 University
Explore Other Universities : Consider applying to other institutions that may have lower cutoffs or different admission criteria.
Improve Your Score : If possible, prepare for the next CUET PG exam to achieve a higher score and enhance your chances of admission.
Consider Other Specializations : Some universities may offer LLM specializations with different admission requirements. Research and apply accordingly.
Hope that helps...
To gain admission to a B.Tech program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Delhi University (DU), a student needs to score at least 60% in the Class 12 board exams, with a strong focus on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Additionally, for B.Tech programs at DU, candidates must have appeared in JEE (Main) Paper-I.
Specific requirements:
Class 12 Marks: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Class 12.
JEE (Main) Paper-I: Candidates must have appeared in JEE (Main) Paper-I.
PCM Subjects: A candidate must have secured 60% or more marks in an aggregate of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
English: Candidates must have passed English as a subject at the Senior School Certificate Examination level.
Category-Specific: For some categories like EWS, SC, ST, and PwBD, the minimum required percentage may be different (e.g., 50% for SC/ST/PwBD).
Important Considerations:
CUET:
Some DU programs, including B.Tech, may also accept CUET scores for admission, especially for colleges affiliated with DU.
IITs and NITs:
For competitive AI programs, aiming for a high JEE Main score (around 90 percentile or higher) can significantly increase your chances of getting into IITs or NITs.
All the best!!

Hello there,
There might be a slight issue with the discrepancy in the spelling of your name between the documents. In most cases, universities, including Delhi University, require that the name on your admission application matches exactly with the one on your official documents (Aadhar, marksheets, etc.).
To avoid any issues during the admission process, you should:
Contact the authorities
: Reach out to the admission office of Delhi University or the concerned department to inform them about the discrepancy and seek clarification.
Rectify the discrepancy : If possible, you can get your 12th marksheet corrected through your respective board (if the mistake is significant enough). You may be able to provide an affidavit or a gazette notification for name corrections in some cases.
Make sure to resolve it as early as possible to prevent any complications during admission or the verification process.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, then feel free to share your questions with us, we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
