If you forgot to select the Delhi quota while registering for DU or IPU admissions, you may have missed the correction window that usually opens after initial registration, like the one Delhi University offered from July 6 to July 11, 2025.
While some changes are allowed during preference filling, particularly if you haven't locked your choices, changing basic details after submission is generally not possible.
However, since you passed 11th and 12th in Delhi, you are eligible for the 85% Delhi quota, which reserves seats in Delhi Government technical institutions. Your best course of action is to contact the university admission authorities directly via their helpline numbers (DU: 011-27006900, IPU: 011-25302167, 011-25302169) or email admissiongrievances@ipu.ac.in
Yes, you can opt for Geography as a domain subject in CUET 2026 even if you didn’t study it in 12th grade. NTA allows candidates to choose any of the available domain subjects.
However, Delhi University (DU) may have specific subject prerequisites for certain courses, so check the course requirements carefully.
Programs like B.A. (Hons.) Geography typically require Geography as a domain subject.
Next steps:
Review DU’s official CUET subject combination list to confirm eligibility.
Prepare using NCERT textbooks and recommended materials.
Stay updated with NTA and DU announcements for any changes.
Hello Yamini!
The fill correct subject mapping error usually occurs when the subjects you have entered do not align exactly with the options or combinations expected by the counselling portal. For DU NCET counselling, the system is quite particular subject names in your marksheet must be selected exactly as they appear in the drop-down list during form filling. Sometimes, certain browsers or devices may not display the drop-down properly, which is why you see no subject option. Try using a laptop instead of a phone, clear cache, or switch to a different browser like Chrome . If the issue continues, contact the official helpline or DU’s NCET counselling support via email or phone—they can reset or correct your mapping. Avoid submitting the form with wrong mapping as it may affect eligibility.
Thank you.
Hello Devansh,
Yes, you can take CUET-PG with an active backlog since eligibility is generally having passed a qualifying degree before the admission. But, universities like DU require you to clear all the backlog and submit all final results by a particular deadline (most likely late July). If your result of the 6th semester is delayed and beyond that timeout, then it may jeopardize your admission, as some systems like IIT JAM admissions close around that same time.
