The DU application form for UG programmes will be released on August 2. The admission to UG programmes is done based on the marks scored by candidates in the Class 12 examination. Getting admission to Delhi University and its affiliated colleges is very tough as the admission committee only releases six- seven DU cutoff lists. Another factor is that the cutoff for every programme is set at a very high standard of marks.

However, candidates who failed to qualify the DU cutoff can still have a chance for admission. In cases where all the cutoff lists have been released and few college seats remain vacant. The university releases a spot admission notice mentioning the vacant seats in their respective category and combined rank which candidates must have to be eligible for Delhi University spot admission. To fill these vacant seats, a spot round admission will be conducted. The number of vacants seats differs for every category.

Hello Aspirant,

You do not need to come from a predefined stream like arts, science, or commerce to get admission into B.A. Political Science at Delhi University (DU) using the CUET exam. You can be from a science stream.

Subject Requirement:

The subject requirements for B.A. (Hons.) Political Science at most DU colleges are:

  1. General Test
  2. English Language Test
  3. Any Two Subjects (includes Political Science, History, Sociology, Psychology etc. -- even if you are from a science stream, you can still include science subjects!)

Always check the eligibility for each college on the DU CSAS portal or the official DU prospectus because some colleges may have preferences.

You're eligible for B.A Political Science at DU but not by choosing ONLY science subjects in CUET.

Here's what you should do:

For CUET there are upto 5 subjects you can choose

1. Language (Mandatory)

2.Two domain- relevant subjects such as political science+ history/sociology/geography (Mandatory)

3.Remaining two subjects are totally optional they can be:The General test(GK,Logical Reasoning etc)and any other subject even from science domain but it won't help with the eligbility for BA.Political Science

Remember:Only your Language and Two arts subjects count for eligibility

Hello Aspirant,

94 percentile in CUET UG is a decent score, and yes, you do have chances of getting admission in Delhi University (DU) for B.Sc. (Honours) courses.

With 94 percentile, you may not get top DU colleges like Hindu, SRCC, St. Stephen’s, Miranda House, or Hansraj, but you can definitely get good colleges like:

  • Ramjas College

  • Deshbandhu College

  • Motilal Nehru College

  • Dyal Singh College

  • Acharya Narendra Dev College (for Bio courses)

  • Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences

  • Kalindi College (for girls)

All the best for your admission process.

Dear aspirant,

To create your DU UG 2025 preference sheet for B.Com (H) and B.Com with a 531/1000 score in the SC category you have to prioritize courses and colleges based on your preferences and the guidance of DU CSAS portal. With a score of 531/1000, it's realistic to expect that you may not get into the most competitive North Campus colleges for B.com (H) . But you can consider all available options, including South Campus and other colleges. For more detailed information please visit the link given below.

Thank you.

Hello,

To create a DU preference list for BSc (Hons) with a focus on lower cutoff colleges,

  • Identify your preferred BSc (Hons) subjects: Make a list of the BSc (Hons) specializations you're interested in (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, etc.).
  • Look at previous years' cutoffs for your chosen subjects in various DU colleges to get an idea of your eligibility.
  • Look into colleges known for good science programs, even if they are not always the top-ranked ones. Consider factors like faculty, infrastructure (labs, libraries), and campus life.
  • Based on your CUET score and the cutoff trends, categorize colleges into:
  1. Top Tier
  2. Mid Tier
  3. Lower Tier
  • Prioritize course over college in some cases, mix and match.

By following these steps and carefully researching your options, you can create a DU preference list that maximizes your chances of getting into a good BSc (Hons) program, even with a lower cutoff score.
