Hi,
Thank for reaching out!
Jawaharlal Nehru University offers French studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels via the Centre for French and Francophone Studies. Admission pathways changed recently to be aligned with NTA exams, so here’s a helpful breakdown:
UG (e.g., BA Hons or integrated programs) — applicants must appear for CUET-UG (the Common University Entrance Test). Choose the language/general test papers required by JNU for the French program when filling CUET. After CUET results are declared, JNU releases a merit list and calls selected candidates for admission procedures (document verification, fee payment). PG (MA in French) — admission is typically through CUET-PG, and eligibility normally requires a bachelor’s degree with adequate exposure to French or a related language background (check JNU’s specific eligibility in the prospectus). For both UG and PG: collect and keep ready your CUET scorecard, 10th/12th or graduation mark sheets, DOB proof, category/EWS certificates, and proof of identity.

Hi Ayush!
Thanks for your question, and don't worry this happens to many students!
If you’ve filled the form for BA (Hons) in Foreign Languages at JNU, but forgot your language preference, here’s what you can do:
You can follow these steps to check your filled preferences:
1. Login to the JNU admission portal same where you applied via CUET.
2. Go to Application Form Preview or My Applications.
3. You’ll find your language preference list under the Course Details section.
If the portal is closed, wait for the correction window or contact the JNU admission helpdesk via email. They are helpful and often allow minor corrections before councelling.
So the language you chose impacts counseling and merit lists, so it’s important to double-check it.
Best of luck
