Careers360. What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?

Abhinav. There are lots of activities that are offered in the institute. We have a unique and student-friendly concept for DID classes. The idea of ‘Do It Daily’ brings to us the space of having one class per week in which we have the opportunity to interact, and do various creative tasks. Yes, we do have clubs for various extracurricular activities. I have personally taken part in a “peer-to-peer” program.

Careers360. Describe a typical day at your institute. What do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

Abhinav. My typical day at the institute starts early in the morning with my routine of yoga and exercises by our sports trainer. I wake up early in the morning and do my regular yoga exercises under the training of our sports trainer. Then I get ready for the class, which every day begins sharply at 10 AM. The lectures are subject-related interactive sessions in which our faculty remain very conscious of the presence and participation of the students. We are having 50 mins. Lunch break starts at 12:40 PM and then our second shift class resumes from 1:30 PM to 5 PM. Then another phase, that is, the evening time of hostel life begins which begins with tea and refreshment, then playtime, we have study time from 7 PM to 9 PM and then we are called for dinner. After that, I prefer to revise the topic taught in the class so that I remain prepared for the next day’s lecture. And in this way, the peaceful life within the premises of VGI passes.

Abhinav. The faculty-student ratio is 1:25. As our classes are divided into sections therefore no teacher is overburdened with too many students. In my understanding, the teacher-student relationship is like a family, especially when one is living on campus. The kind of sensitivity, understanding, empathy, and care they carry within themselves for the students, actually makes VGI a worthy institution to study.
