SAMS Odisha cutoff represents the minimum qualifying marks required for admission to various UG courses in institutions in Odisha. The Student Academic Management System (SAMS) sets these cutoffs based on factors like the number of applicants, available seats, and previous year admission trends. Applicants must meet or exceed the specified cutoff to secure a seat in their desired programme.
Candidates must follow the below steps to check and download cutoff for SAMS Odisha 2024:
Step 1: Visit the official website of SAMS Odisha- samsodisha.gov.in
Step 2: Select the Degree (+3) option on the homepage.
Step 3: Click on the college wise cut-off list option.
Step 4: Download the PDF of the SAMS cut-off list. Save it for future reference.
Availability of seats: The number of available seats for a particular course in colleges plays a crucial role. Limited seats, especially in renowned institutions, can lead to higher cutoffs.
Previous cutoff trends: Past cutoff trends serve as a reference point. Consistent or increasing cutoffs suggest higher competition, while variations may indicate changes in demand or exam difficulty.
Demand for Courses: The popularity and demand for specific courses significantly impact the SAMS Odisha cutoff. High-demand courses often have higher cutoffs due to increased competition.
Reservation Categories: Different reservation categories, including SC, ST, OBC, and economically weaker sections, have specific cutoffs. Reservation policies directly influence the qualifying marks for each category.

The destination college allocates elective subjects based on merit, applicants' preferences in the CAF, and seat availability. Hostel seat information is communicated to students through various modes like SMS, email, WhatsApp, Sanjog Helpline Toll-Free, and the applicant's login on the SAMS portal. It's crucial to note that if a student selects a higher choice through the Slide process, they cannot remain in a lower choice HEI.

The SAMS UG allocation of seats in each stream is based on applicants' weightage, which cannot surpass 10% of the sanctioned strength. This 10% share is fairly distributed among all applicant categories. Even if the cut-off mark decreases in subsequent selections, applicants selected with weightage and admitted will persist in this 10% bracket. An applicant is eligible for a maximum 10% weightage mark. This ensures equitable distribution and consistency for applicants gaining admission with weightage, fostering a fair and stable selection process.
NCC candidates: Applicants with a "B" Certificate will receive an extra 5% weightage over their aggregate marks in the Higher Secondary (+2) or equivalent exam. However, those with "A" and "C" Certificates are not eligible for any admission weightage in U.G. (Degree/+3) Courses. Additionally, applicants representing the State or Central School/Sainik School at All-India level NCC Camps/Courses/Activities will receive an extra 3% weightage over their aggregate marks in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination. These weightage criteria aim to recognize and reward specific achievements in the admission process.
NSS Candidates: Applicants representing the country at the international level are eligible for direct admission. Applicants participating in the Inter-State Category Camp gain a 3% additional weightage over their aggregate marks in the CHSE/Equivalent examination. Applicants receiving the best NSS Volunteer award at Council/Board level get a 2% additional weightage over their aggregate marks in the CHSE/Equivalent examination. Those representing the state and National Level Camp receive a 5% additional weightage over their aggregate marks in the CHSE/Equivalent examination.
Rover & Ranger candidates: Applicants presenting the original certificate signed by the President of India are eligible for a 5% additional weightage over their aggregate marks in the Higher Secondary (+2)/Equivalent examination. Rover & Ranger candidates possessing and presenting the original certificate signed by the Governor/PATRON/President of the State Association receive a 2% additional weightage over their aggregate marks in the Higher Secondary (+2)/Equivalent examination.
Sports and Games: Applicants with International-level sports representation are given priority based on their weightage certificates, securing their 1st Preference. State-level sports participants receive an extra 10% weightage over their Higher Secondary (+2)/ Equivalent exam marks. Recent directives state that applicants with International & State level Sports Certificates no longer need countersigning at the Sports & Youth Services Department. Sports weightage certificates are exclusively issued online through the S&Y Deptt. website, and only those with online-generated certificates featuring photos & QR CODEs are considered valid. QR-based Sports Certificates remain valid for one academic year. School-level sports representatives at the Inter-State School Sports Meet gain an additional 5% weightage, requiring countersigning by the Director, Secondary Education, with a one-year validity for the Sports Certificate.
