How LPU adapted to Covid-19 pandemic situation?

For the past year, the world has been suffering the onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic. The Covid-19 has impacted our daily life, economy and our education system in a major way. The universities around the world have to facilitate while keeping all the students and faculties safe. Keeping these factors in mind, Lovely Professional University has taken necessary action to make sure that its students can still receive high level education in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Read the following article to know how LPU adapted to keep up with the Covid-19.

Online admissions

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, LPU has completely changed it’s admission process. All admission processes such as application process, entrance test, interviews and uploading documents will be done in online mode. Students can also attend the LPUNEST exam online and video interviews from their home. Students can complete all the admission formalities form their home regardless of where the student is located,

Live video counselling (One to one interaction)

LPU has introduced Zoom counselling calls for students who are in need of the counselling regarding their future. Students can initiate the Zoom counselling call by clicking a button on the website of the university. Now students can interact and take career guidance from expert admission counsellors through live video counselling and discover the best-suited programme/ stream for themselves.

Better scholarship support

The amplitude of scholarship has been expanded to provide more support to deserving candidates. The candidates will be offered scholarships based on their qualifications before eligibility qualification. For example, any candidate seeking admission to B.Tech programme can apply for a scholarship based on 10 + 2 (Eligibility qualification) or 10th (Qualification previous to 10 + 2).

Flexible and easy payment options for admissions

The provisional admission to every programme (except PG Agriculture and PG Pharmacy) is conducted by remitting a nominal fee of Rs. 20,000. The deadline to pay the balance fee has also been extended to June 30, 2021. Students can also deposit the balance fees in instalments (except PG pharmacy PG agriculture).

Document submission

Considering the current scenario, the candidates are allowed to submit their eligibility qualification documents whenever the result of 10+2 exams or university from where the student previously studied is released. LPU will take it in account for admission verification; however, students must fulfill the eligibility requirements.

Proportionate residential charges

As all students are currently not using university residences. The university has decided to reduce the charges of residential facilities and students will only need to pay for the duration from the starting date of physical classes till the academic session ends.

Easy refund processing

Students can apply for a refund of program fee by submitting an online application form through the official website of the LPU. The last date to apply for a refund of the programme fee is July 31, 2021. After applying for refund, candidates will receive the amount deposited by them with a deduction of only Rs. 1000. There will be separate refund dates for PG pharmacy, PhD programs and PG agriculture.

What is LPU’s plan for teaching till the offline classes do not start:

LPU has responded in a proactive manner to every obstacle posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. LPU is one of the first few organizations within the country which were able to changeover from physical classes to online classes very easily.

Partnered with top companies and platform to start online classes

To provide its students a safe online environment, LPU collaborated with some of the best tech companies to develop LPU My Class. It is an in house platform which is used for online teaching. With the help of LPU My Class, LPU has been able to conduct live online classes immediately after the world lockdown in March 2020. The university has already tested the effectiveness of LPU My Class as more than 1,00,000 hours of online sessions were regulated for LPU students from numerous different academic programmes. LPU will continue to conduct the online classes until the government permits physical classes.
