In her interview to Careers360, Reeti shares her experience at Bennett University. What was it like to be a part of the university? How did she choose the BAJMC programme at this university? Careers360: Tell us about your domain and your work profile. At the professional level, did you pursue the same field you were interested in, or did you switch?
Answer: Yes, I definitely did choose the same field of work as per my specialization in TV journalism during my bachelors. Currently I am working as a video producer with Digital Green.
Careers360: Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?
Answer: I worked with The Print as a video journalist, now working with Digital Green as video producer. Also did some freelance work as I love documenting life and lesser heard voices.
Careers360: Is the Industry work different from what you learnt at Bennett University?
Answer: I think I got the most on the field learning experience at Bennett. And I can safely say, I feel like I have an upper hand than other candidates from other renowned universities. The experiential learning environment backed up by Studios at BU played a key role.
Careers360: How do you think your time in college has added value to your life, both professional and personal?
Answer: I think teachers were very cool and added a certain perspective to mould our personality during our course time. The concepts learnt through the practical exposure, the experiences through various co-curricular activities outside the class have acted like solid pillars for my both personal and professional life.
Careers360: What was your initial thought process when you joined Bennett University?
Answer: The feeling at the initial stage was a bit experimental as we were in the founding batch of the course. But the strong pillars of Times Group have made us sail smoothly and got placed with good brands.
Careers360: How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements and what was the role of the institute in it?
The on the go training as 60% of our curriculum was based on practical learning, guest lectures, workshops, industrial visits, software learning where our teachers played the most important role in helping us with the industry trends.
Careers360: You are a proud alumnus of BU. What is the best part of the Institute from a student's perspective?
Answer: I am proud to be a student of my grateful teachers. With Bennett I just didn’t follow my dreams, but I lived my dreams. The conducive learning environment, dedicated professors, abundant freedom, amazing people & mesmerizing infrastructure forms the best part of the institute.
Careers360: What is your suggestion/guidance for the BU aspirants?
Answer: Trust the process. You will sail successfully. Learn on the go.
Careers360: You must have spent a memorable time at BU. Do you miss being a part of it? Share a few good memories.
Answer: There are many, every day was a different kind of fun with a different story to tell. Late night hostel gossip, making friends which are now family, enjoying events with friends, horrible exam nights, still takes me on a roller coaster ride and makes me miss college every day.
Careers360: Briefly take us through your life at the campus, the activities you used to do and your routine life.
Answer: Life at campus was super busy. Busy with academics, managing practical learning, keeping time for our self-growth, chilling with friends and most importantly being at peace with all the buzz happening around. A walk around with friends in the evening experiencing various events happening here or there on the campus.
Careers360: Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in and how did it enrich your life?
Answer: I believed in academics and that’s where I was always to be found in classrooms, labs, studios capturing videos and carving stories out of it. This made me learn a lot of lessons on my own.
