What if two or more candidates secure the same rank

The university will employ a tie-breaking formula if there are two or more candidates who receive the same GNDU ranking. When tie-breakers are employed, a number of factors come into play, including candidates' scores in the qualifying exam, their age, and several others.

GNDU Inter-Se-Merit/Tie-Breaking Criteria 2026

The Guru Nanak Dev University inter-se-merit tie-break is worked out using the variables in a predetermined order of preference.

• Candidates with higher marks in the qualifying exam will be given preference.

• In case the above doesn’t break the tie, the older candidates will be given preference
