National Entrance Screening Test
Hello,
To qualify for admission a candidate must score sectional cut off marks and overall cut off marks as well. For admission to NISER Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score is calculated for all 4 sections separately so it is mandatory to attempt questions from all the sections. For admission in to CEBS Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score for any 3 subjects so you can skip attempting question from Biology section.

Hi Aspirant!
NISER is an autonomous institute under DAE, Government of India. Being a government instutitute, the fee is very less. And college also provides relaxation in fee for the students who belong to any reservation category. Semester fee for general and OBC category is around 10,000 including hostel rent (might vary depending on the streams). Deposits which are paid during admission (one time charges) include intitute and library caution money which is not more than 6k INR. Other charges including career developmemt programs, publication, medical examination, etc might cost you around 2500 INR. You can check out the detailed fee structure here:
https://www.niser.ac.in/admission/fee_structure.php
Thankyou!
NEST is conducted to get admission in NISER ( National Institute of Science Education and Research ) and CEEB (Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai ) only in the programof MSC . You cannot take admission in engineering courses for Bachelor's program (BTECH) by NEST. You need to write JEE MAINS/ADVANCED or any other state/university level exam to get admission in engineering college.

NCERT is good for concepts but problem solving you need to have some practice. For that you can go for books like:
PHYSICS:
1)RESNICK and HALLIDAY
2)problems in general physics - I.E Irodov
3)Kleppner and Kolenkow (for mechanics)
4)Intoduction to electrodynamics (relevant chapters only)
CHEMISTRY
1)Problems in Organic Chemistry(Himangshu Pandey)
2)Inorganic Chemistry(cengage - vol1 and vol2)
3) For physical chemistry, ncert 11/12 and Comprehensive Chemistry is enough.
MATHS
For functions and basic calculus:
1)Calculus of one variable I.A Maron
2)Piskunov vol1 (relevant chapters)
For Algebra :
For coordinate geometry:
This are also the books which most students study for any entrance related to Engineering. So as you have not much time you can go according to your availability.
I hope my answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
