I am a student of class 12 studying in Delhi from Assam. I belongs to OBC category.I have central OBC-NCL certificate . Since i studied 10,11 and 12 from delhi so i become eligible for 85% delhi state quota in neet ug.Am i eligible for 27% OBC reservation in 85% Delhi in state quota?

ayanmukherjee045 8th Feb, 2022

Dear aspirant,

As you mentioned that you have done your schooling from 10th , 12th from Delhi so let me tell you that you are absolutely eligible for the 85% home state quota in delhi but for obc certificate your central certificate won't be accepted because they won't allow it. You have to make it from Delhi itself and it has been mentioned in the guidelines also.

if I score less marks or I failed in pre boards in one subject in class 12 ,so will it effect my eligibility criteria for jee mains and jee advanced for admission in IIST?

Garima Sihag 19th Feb, 2024

No, scoring less marks or failing in one subject in your class 12 pre-boards will not directly affect your eligibility criteria for JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, or admission to IIST.

Here's why:

  • Eligibility for JEE Mains and JEE Advanced: These exams have their own specific eligibility criteria based on your qualifying exam (Class 12 board exams) and not your pre-board performance. As long as you meet the minimum marks requirement in your Class 12 boards , you can appear for these exams.

  • Admission to IIST: IIST considers your JEE Advanced rank for admission to their undergraduate programs. Your pre-board marks do not play any role in the selection process.

However, it's important to remember that:

  • Pre-boards are a valuable practice tool: They help you identify your strengths and weaknesses, assess your exam preparedness, and get familiar with the exam format. While not directly impacting eligibility, poor performance in pre-boards might indicate areas needing improvement for the actual JEE exams.

  • Focus on improvement: Use your pre-board results as a learning opportunity. Analyze your mistakes, identify the subjects or topics you struggled with, and work on strengthening your understanding in those areas. This will help you perform better in the actual JEE exams and increase your chances of securing admission to IIST.

Therefore, while pre-board marks are not a deciding factor for eligibility, they can serve as a valuable indicator of your preparation and highlight areas requiring improvement. So, focus on learning from your mistakes and strive to improve your performance in the upcoming exams.
