Anna University Centre for Distance Education (CDE) is a distance learning division of Anna University. Anna University distance learning programmes are designed to improve the ability of students to operate in an increasingly diverse environment. Admissions to Anna University distance programmes are made twice a year: one for Academic Year (AY) and the other for Calendar Year (CY). Candidates are selected based on the Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET).

For the Anna University MBA programme, a total of 1,713 students appeared for the examinations, out of which 1,187 students successfully progressed to the next year, representing a pass percentage of 69 percent.

The Anna University MCA programme recorded 277 students appearing in the exams, with 194 progressing to next year, resulting in a pass rate of 70 percent. Furthermore, the Anna University MSc (Computer Science) programme had 122 students appear for the examinations, and 54 students progressed to the next year, making the pass percentage at 45 percent.

No private or unapproved institutions are permitted as exam centres.
