Anna University Distance Education Admissions: Number of Students

In the fresh admissions for the September 2023-2024 academic session, a total of 1,188 students were admitted.

The admission data for the September 2023-24 academic session shows that the Anna University MBA programme attracted the highest number of students, with 500 male and 432 female candidates, making a total of 932 admissions.

The MCA programme admitted 93 male and 97 female students, resulting in 190 total admissions. For the MSc in Computer Science programme, 34 male and 32 female students were admitted, bringing the total to 66 admissions.

Anna University Distance Education: Results and Progression

In the August 2023 session, 61 percent of students passed Anna University Distance Education programmes.

The students number shown in the results and progression table includes both fresh and existing batches. In August 2023, the results and progression data reflect a varied performance across different programmes. For the Anna University MBA programme, a total of 1,713 students appeared for the examinations, out of which 1,187 students successfully progressed to the next year, representing a pass percentage of 69 percent.

The Anna University MCA programme recorded 277 students appearing in the exams, with 194 progressing to next year, resulting in a pass rate of 70 percent. Furthermore, the Anna University MSc (Computer Science) programme had 122 students appear for the examinations, and 54 students progressed to the next year, making the pass percentage at 45 percent.

Anna University Distance Education: Year-Wise Admission

The data shows that the Anna University MBA admissions slightly increased from 361 students in March 2023 to 369 students in March 2024. The MCA programme recorded a more notable growth, with the number of students rising from 38 in March 2023 to 66 in March 2024, indicating a significant upward admission trend.

Moreover, the Anna University MSc in Computer Science programme experienced admissions increasing from 21 students in March 2023 to 27 students in March 2024. Overall, the data reflects consistent improvement in student enrolment across all three programmes at Anna University.

Anna University Distance Education: Examinations

Anna University Centre for Distance Education (CDE) follows a structured examination framework consisting of both formative and summative assessments.

Note: Students must have 75 percent attendance in Personal Contact Programmes and lab components and have completed 75 percent of the course programme to appear for end-semester examinations.

Examination Centres

All examinations for Anna University distance programmes are held in approved government institutions, affiliated colleges, or University centres only. The Examination Centre can be located in Government Institutions like Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, State Government Schools. No private or unapproved institutions are permitted as exam centres.
