UPSC Civil Services Exam Government increases 2 more attempts for general candidates

The Civil Services aspirants have news to rejoice as the Government has decided to increase two more attempts for the prestigious exam. Moreover the age limit too has been increased to 32 from 30.

The most coveted exam for the graduate eligible aspirants is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The Government has taken this decision and will be applicable with effect from this year.

At present, a candidate belonging to the general category is allowed to take a maximum of four attempts till they attain the age of 30 years; while there is no such limit for those belonging to the reserved categories.

This year UPSC is scheduled to conduct the Civil Services Exam in the month of August. The exam is taken up by lakhs of eligible university graduates competing for selection of Indian Administrative Services, Indian Police Services and Indian Foreign Services among the 54 central services, whose appointment is made by the President of India.

The Civil Services exam is conducted in 3 phases – Preliminary, Mains and Interview.
